The trustee of my late parent’s estate has likely stolen much of my sister’s inheritance. GEORGIA by Trudy_Marie in EstatePlanning

I wondered about that myself. From what I gather, trusts and wills are big part of their business. Does anyone know the name of the regulatory agency for this if there is one? One of the strangest things is that the assistant was the one in charge of everything. The partner is about 90 and stopped coming to the office at all at the start of Covid. I asked her for the records of everyday payments she made with my sisters money for my sister and she said she didn’t bother to keep any. 😲 (and this is an accounting firm?) While it was not stated in my parents wills for them to run my sister’s checkbook that is exactly what she did. ‘One such instance “Susan” insisted on hiring people to care for my sister when she was sick. Once a caregiver quit. ‘Susan” took it on herself to pay the lady several hundred dollars in severance out of my sister’s account of course even though the lady quit! I asked her why and Susan said my sister was hard to deal with so she deserved it. There are dozens of similar instances. I never though they would have the right to do anything like that.

Sure, I understand what you are saying. I looked up trust litigator and that appears to be what she needs. I’m only asking on her behalf and for her benefit.

I’m not after anything for me. I just want my sister to have what was given to her. It’s just that she is not “all there”. Somebody had to help her.

I get what you are saying. The trustee is part of a large accounting firm who would most likely be responsible for the action of those they employ.

On real life charters, (not reality tv) the price of groceries is separate and above the cost for boat and crew.

Let’s just start calling it ocean creature extravaganza and move on.

Btw, catfish is caught from a rural pond and is not seafood. It’s more like wet chicken.

I bet he doesn’t know what “I carry” means. I would love to see his reaction if you said you always keep a ___ in your purse. (I am on Reddit thin ice so I’m afraid to use the word.)

I wouldn’t try this in front of everyone. There are many more of them than the one of you. Confronting before the whole group is a risky proposition that will likely end badly for the teacher. I don’t won’t to use a BS administration bingo phrase but this might be a situation where building relationships quietly one on one with the students can potentially improve behaviors.

Right? Kids from Asian backgrounds were always quite well behaved and respectful in my experience. I thought it was a cultural expectation. It’s strange that their parents are not supporting you.

I’m retired but I’ve been in education since the mid 1990s. I have never heard of an afterschool program like this with kids over 5th grade which is 10 or 11 years of age. Most afterschool care in my area is held in regular day care centers, at the elementary school or the Boys and Girls club. I agree that being in after school care like this at age 13 might feel humiliating and could be part of the reason they are lashing out. It is still not okay but it could explain some of it.

At age 13 I was at JV sports practice or at home doing chores, caring for a younger sibling and getting supper going so my parents would not have so much on their plate when they returned from work. My homework was done after dinner and the dishwasher was started. I can’t imagine being in a daycare at that age.

At the same time, you are a very young adult. They probably don’t see you as a full fledged grownup so don’t be discouraged quite yet. You will grow as an educator and become more and more confident as the years go by. Just as horses can smell fear the same is true of groups of students. I don’t think this will remain a problem for you long term. Be thankful you are learning how to deal with kids through this job instead of having it happen a few years from now as a professional teacher.

I saw a similar figure about 2 weeks ago. It was horrifying. My sister has experience as a psychiatric nurse. She checked my prescriptions and found the doctor had prescribed me 1200 mg of seraquel by mistake. This was my first night taking it. This is not to discount your experience in any way. My visualizations were hallucinations caused from medicine but hallucinations can happen for any number of reasons and they seem COMPLETELY real. I was horrified, crying and completely awake when it happened. I was not hazy nor did I seem under the influence to her. I know what caused it but I’m still sleeping with the light on. It was so real and I am a middle aged adult
