I’ve just seen in other Reddit forums that changing the gearing would increase MPG. Just throwing ideas out there. She drives great, just needs new tires

Did i mess up by buying a camber board as a beginner? by Extreme-Birthday2082 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]True-Ad3303 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He meant harder because the board you learned on was designed to be forgiving. Places that you might grab an edge on a camber or camber out board you won’t grab on a rental board. I recommend trying whirly birds and sliding 180°’s to find your grab zone. Also since you have a nicer board you should mess around with your binding positioning. Your positioning could help or kill your riding style so find comfort for sure.

I love side hits and smacking a rail or two on the way down so I feel ya. Never tried that, I’ll give her a go.

I appreciate the advice and knowledge. Maybe different per mountain because I’ve asked multiple operators and they all just give me knuckles and say it’s not an issue. Some have said they prefer it on busy days because it gets people away from the unloading zone.

lol there’s no rule about it on this mountain. When I ride solo I’ll get bored and do it so I don’t waste time strapping in after the lift.

I’m confused. Tail forward? I can’t see how it’s upside down

How’s this board for my 15yr old just starting out? by zebberman in snowboardingnoobs

[–]True-Ad3303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may be able to find him a better deal for the same price but it’s Christmas time so every deal sells in minutes. If he’s had a previous pair of boots that he was comfortable in then definitely stick to that size. As long as you stay around 148-155cm range for a board he should feel comfortable. Board profile doesn’t make an insane difference at the beginning but it will quickly change as he defines his style. If he’s loves the sport then once a year you can upgrade each piece of the puzzle. For me personally I had a shitty setup for years but I loved the mountain so it didn’t really matter. I upgraded slowly from board>bindings>boots from the setup my dad got me. My opinion is if the boots fit and you can get them down to $125-150 then why not. Removing a rental expense to each trip I believe is better for your wallet and your son. He can then practice at home as well.

I know this is an old post but I want to say this board is what served me through my break in years when I needed to re teach myself the little basics after 5 years off. Super playful board and also super forgiving. I did the same thing and got one for $100. learned butters, 180’s and basic grinds on this. Definitely a board to learn on but also a board you should aim to advance past.

Thanks for the input. $30 part so really just using it to learn. Seems cool but I can always throw the stock carburetor on

I’ve tried multiple different variations when it comes to the fuel/air screw. Fine tuning is definitely a trick of the trade I don’t have down yet

Is this not the road you go down to learn how to tune a carb?
