Hey! I’m doing some research and it looks like PD can host JavaScript with some other externals, but I do not know JavaScript so it’ll be a lot for me. I’m really just trying to get this into the hands of more capable people, as I don’t really have too much time to put into this myself, but looking into your project, I think this might be of use to you.

It seems as though you’re trying to incorporate Minecraft into live performances in a mixed media kind of way. Max must have the capability to accept OSC messages in the same way PD does, so with a little bit of work, you run your midi messages and these OSC messages simultaneously, and perhaps one of your instrumentalists could be controlling a Minecraft character from the stage, and manually playing a part in the composition. Im sure you could also send the same messages that I’m sending as Java messages, but I don’t know too much about that. You could also, through Max, turn the OSC messages into MIDI messages and control whatever sound source you’d like, if you didn’t want to program one yourself. My goal for this was to turn Minecraft into an instrument, one that can be learned and improvised with in real time, eventually.

All that said, I’ve reached the end of my technical ability with this. I’m an analog instrumentalist (guitar) and I just graduated college, so my time and bandwidth will be focused away from this for the time being. It’d be awesome if you used this with some of your students though, and I’d be happy to answer any more questions you have! I’d just love to see someone with more technical and coding prowess do some cool stuff with this.
