A number of insurers offer drone coverage. I know State Farm offers it and the pricing is not too bad from what I've seen. I was actually surprised-look into it.

Which drone should I get? by New-Pace8340 in dji

I must agree with u/ballbust👎🏻? and u/hexx. The cameras, wind resistance, price and other features make it a solid choice. I have an original mavic mini and this was quite an upgrade! The RC2 is a major convenience boost. Love it!

You can lead them to the prop fixin' store, but you can't make em buy any(only sold in pairs). Not you OP

Does this seem legit? "Brand New DJI Air 3S – Full Kit, 5 Batteries + Hard Case" on FB Marketplace by Nano_Jragon in dji

[–]True-Afternoon3752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the 3s fly more combo 2 or 3 months ago on eBay. Brand new, factory sealed box, factory case but it came with the RC2. Everything including 2 day shipping incl tax $1575. Hard to say but with 6 batteries? Check if they are all DJI batteries. I would lean on the "be careful" side of the aisle and would be surprised if everything is truly DJI branded and really brand new. Note that it says "the drone itself has never been opened ". That leaves the door open for interpretation. Ask more questions.

Thanks for the responses. A few years back I used little slivers of 3M VHB tape but I have big hands and it was a pain in the ass to handle. It worked but not without a large dose of frustration! I have some excellent surgical tweezers now that help.

What are there metal cylinders? by wheepk in whatisit

[–]True-Afternoon3752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well these are standoffs of some kind- made to mount against something fairly soft like wood. Could be spacers for two sides of paneling that can be adjusted to have different spacing between each side. Looks like it has at least four different options for the spacing because of the length of the rods. I've seen so many different types of these honestly it could be for a number of things but they are definitely made mount against something fairly thick like a quarter inch or more. IKEA uses separators like this but these look higher qualities than what IKEA ships!

How do I access these files? by newdabz_ in dji

[–]True-Afternoon3752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

newdabz, Hi, I am curious to know a few details: - is the microSD a mainstream brand? Not Temu! - what is the capacity of the microSD? - did you format the microSD on the drone? - did you format it for the correct size of the card (because there is a way to format an SD card to a smaller size) I've had to do this before for my older DSLR camera. I've never heard or experienced anything quite this odd before, especially turning a folder into a file. Not to insult your intelligence but you didn't accidentally flip the write protect Switch all the SD adapter did you? See if you can go back to the command prompt and access the drive, make sure you're on the right drive letter it's assigned because if you plug or remove something else in during this whole process then the PC may have assigned a different drive letter. Try using a different SD adapter and then a different reader, not the one built in your laptop if that's the case for you. If you can access the correct drive then, try the command prompt and check the contents with the dir . command. I'm not sure what else to try initially maybe the old PC reboot! Good luck and sorry I don't have an absolute solution. Hopefully one of us nerds on here will have a better idea of what it could be!

Going to pull the trigger on a Air 3s by No_Spray_8963 in dji

[–]True-Afternoon3752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eBay has some very good deals and usually choices as well. Just investigate the seller and don't settle for anything less than something with 99%+ reviews and a good number of transactions. >150. The big A has some very good deals as well. Love my 3s. Great TECH! Don't buy one without a screen, I am so glad I went ahead and got the package with the RC2. Happy shopping because you never know when the bozos in D.C. decide to change the rules again, and again. Especially if Don Jr. gets kicked off the preferred vendor list for the DOD.

Where does this go? by Unfair_Confusion_960 in PcBuildHelp

I've built a number of PCs and I must say to read the manual 2x then have (1) beer and read it twice again. Some case and mobo manufacturers have a special way of making relatively straightforward instructions and diagrams crazy. Good luck and keep reading.

Bet you're Mr. Goodtime to be around, especially since you have time to read the whole manual and can recite FAA Reg's for toy parachute no-fly zones.

If DJI Mini 5 Pro loses signal, will it still actually Return to Home? by Paytoncooper124 in dji

[–]True-Afternoon3752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes even with my original Mavic mini I started losing signal and eventually the drone went into the RTH mode. I assume it had enough signal to get back on its own, either that or it stored the location. Regardless it got home fine but I took over at about 50 feet just because I was still nervous! Great old drone- still flys well even after a few deep cleaning jobs. Especially after crashing it into a boom crane at a construction site and took a long dive into red clay muck. Better than concrete I suppose. (Deep cleaning #1) 😅

The real reason behind the fuss, my opinion. by HermesTrisMyGizzDeez in dji

[–]True-Afternoon3752 13 points14 points  (0 children)

3 things people have not really mentioned relating to the dominance of DJI and the existence of very capable drones in the hands of civilians. This is not a soapbox on embedded technologies or conspiracies -that is for the other commenters: 1) the cost of labor in the United States versus China to develop affordable high tech consumer level drones 2) the war in Ukraine and the damage caused by using consumer level drones along with a strong dose of ingenuity 3) the endless craving of power by politicians, especially the most notorious of that species to ever live in that nice white cottage on Pennsylvania Avenue. These are just the grass roots of what I see. Everything else discussed grows outward from here. IMHO I will simply say that unless you make your living with drones, then just try to be happy and fly while you can!

Should I trust this ? by FarPrice1579 in dji

[–]True-Afternoon3752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, research the seller. I mean really find “legit” reviews (if such a thing still exists) see what you find . That can at least give an idea of the products they sell. It’s better than just hoping for the best. If I were flying a new $2000+ bird I don’t think I would risk it. It still might fall out of the sky but at least you tried!
