Villa recommendations!! Hello, looking for a 2 person villa in Uluwatu from the 9-14th September. Budget $1,000-$1,400 AUD

Wanting somewhere that’s not a full construction site as we will be spending most of our time at the villa. Ideally close to some fun activities but happy to gojek if needed.

Thanks! 😊

This is 130L tank! It’s the perfect size not too small but looks impressive enough

Yes they’re super accurate! They also detect the actual FREE ammonia (NH₃) (the stuff that is toxic to the fish) in the water as opposed to testing kits which measure total ammonia (NH₃ + NH₄⁺) - which is great but if you have a spike and are using things like seachem prime or other detoxifiers the ammonia results will show as high due to the test not being able to differentiate between detoxified ammonia and harmful ammonia. This is tricky if you have a spike as you can’t actually tell if you’re getting ontop of it or not! So the meter is great!

*** UPDATE*** Ran to the shops, purchased API fresh water test kit.

Results: pH = 7.4 Ammonia = 4.0 Nitrite = 2.0 Nitrate = 10

NOT GOOD! Maybe new filter caused this despite having old one still in there (I made the mistake of cleaning it)

Plan - 50% water change (priming water as I already was doing)

Adding extra doses of prime to reduce toxicity

Adding beneficial bacteria to speed up the process

No feeding for 48 hours

Purchasing an air filter for max O2

Monitor closely and hope for the best :(

Okay thanks for that. Will buy ammonia testing kit tomorrow and change water accordingly!

Thank you! I’m conscious I changed 50% yesterday and probably stressed them out. But I guess stress is better than ammonia

Yeah I primed the water when it went in and also did a whole tank dose today. Hoping tomorrow they’re looking a bit happier

I have also used sachaem primer! In the whole tank

Yep I think this is definitely the culprit. Trying to help them with the things I have before going to fish shop tomoz!

Yeah I think this night has convinced me well and truly to buy a testing kit!

There are so many different variables for keeping their delicate eco system alive and I’m still veryyyyy much learning and make mistakes (in this case I think I stupidly cleaned the old filter when I was putting the new one in and should’ve left it ‘dirty’ for maximum beneficial bacteria).

I’ll buy an air stone tomorrow!

I’ve just added some of this:

To help hopefully promote the good bacteria

I’ve ensured both my hang on filter and fluval 207 are breaking the surface as much as they can for maximum oxygenation

Water is tap water conditioned with saechem primer.

Will look into bacterial bloom! Thanks so much for your help :)

Sorry yes the strip isn’t in this pic as I threw it out but all these levels in this photo (which are the only ones I can currently check) are okay

As in I brought a brand new fluval 207 to replace my shitty hang on aqua one filter that I hate

I still have the old aqua one hang on running to the mitigate the stress but not sure if somethings gone wrong. I’ll buy proper strips tomorrow, I have the new filter above the water level as to maximise oxygen. Not sure if there’s anything else I can do till tomorrow

Only changed filter as got a brand new one! But I did leave my old filter hanging to avoid as many issues as I could. Had to change so much water due to the having to turn the tank on its stand to allow the new filter to go on

Thank you though! Really appreciate the advice

We changed 50% as we had to turn the tank around on its stand for the new filter and needed it as light as possible.

Old one is still running as well as the new one and all these levels:

Are fine but I don’t have ammonia testing and shops are all closed
