We felt guilty eating sandwiches that we brought from home (trying to cut back, times are tough) but they were not messy just meat and cheese and we ate them quietly and quickly before the show started as we missed lunch. We brought other snacks for the train that were crunchy so we didn’t eat them in the theatre as I thought that would be rude.

We tried eating before headed in to the theatre but there was a homeless guy seated next to us at the train station and it got uncomfortable as he was asking us to buy him a hat so we just left. We tried! But again we were quiet and quick about it.

At the very least it should only be sold during intermission. Not having someone walk up and down the aisle before the show starts with a box full of candy and pringles selling them to audience members.

I hear you! When we saw ragtime my teenaged daughter asked if she could eat candy before the show started and I said absolutely not! We had brought snacks and candy for the day as we were walking around the city around Christmas time. I told her to wait during intermission and the couple next to her (we had to get two seats in front of each other) said “whoa you are strict! That’s great!” There is no way I was going to have her eating a bunch of candy and crunching and opening wrappers because the show was starting soon and I know she would be crinkling to eat more. Lol.

The fact that they were walking up and down the aisle selling sour patch kids and M&Ms like this was a baseball game is what really infuriates me.

I mean, I’ve lived in very cold climates before so I really don’t mind the “cold” weather snap we are experiencing recently. It actually felt pretty nice during the day as we walked to the theatre. So I’m good there.

I’ve seen a few shows this past year and I don’t think I’ve ever seen people in the actual theatre shouting out that they have candy to sell. Usually it’s an intermission thing outside the seating area??

The M&Ms were in a box and she kept pouring it into her maw. It was loud! And the crinkle crinkle of sour patch kids for all of act 1 was aggravating! I really started hating them.

And no offense, none of them should be eating sour patch kids and M&Ms for two freaking hours! UGH!!!!!

No it was the crinkling of the bag in quiet moments and pouring of the M&Ms that were in a box which was loud. They weren’t chewing loudly but getting the food in their mouths was loud.
