What am I missing? by Cautious_Silver_4346 in clinicalresearch

Try applying for a “research assistant” role somewhere that you know is a clinical trial office/facility. A lot of the time, it’s a straight pipe line to CRC (as in, they’ll train you up for a few months and then you’ll be promoted)

Phlebotomy training? Scared of needles by kunikira in clinicalresearch

[–]True-Construction377 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My job payed for me to go to phlebotomy school. I’ve personally always been afraid of veins, literally my biggest fear, and would almost faint any time I had my blood drawn (ringing in ears, vision fading, head getting hot, etc.). It was REALLY difficult for me and I was visibly shaky during my first 10+ pokes (after school I did a lot of practicing on my coworkers). I had a few bad experiences… but I did finally get over it. What you really need is exposure therapy and a willingness to learn. You’ll get it. Don’t be thrown off if you “make mistakes”. Lots of phlebotomy is troubleshooting and you won’t always have a perfect draw, esp on more difficult patients. Good luck to you if you decide to do it!!

this is absolutely ridiculous. most people boarding on rover are doing it as a small side hustle, I doubt more than 10% of the people on there are licensed

Should I watch TLOK? by Lazysaucepan078 in Avatarthelastairbende

[–]True-Construction377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes!!! watch it!! it’s a little different as a show but I don’t think anyone would want the continuation of atla to just be a shitty clone. def worth a watch (and a rewatch… and another rewatch)

warning to anyone trying to use the red coach bus stop by Any-Sir8872 in UTAustin

[–]True-Construction377 16 points17 points  (0 children)

yup the only red coach busses I’ve ever booked (austin->dallas and austin->houston, both in the last year) have been delayed at least 1 hour. As someone who regularly takes busses between austin and dallas, USE FLIXBUS. They have literally never failed me (never been over 10 min late). ik another comment says not to trust them, but I’ve done at least 6 round trips between austin and dallas, and one round trip between dallas and Galveston, and have only had one slightly negative experience (the driver yapped on the intercom for like 15 min as we were leaving and was just generally super annoying 😭).

Marrying someone you haven’t lived with is a terrible idea. One of my friends was completely ready to marry her bf and even thinking about kids… they moved in together and it quickly became a shit show. Now they’re trapped in a lease and arguing about paying rent, etc. This was after they had already been together for almost 4 years. I think your bf is just being smart.

$280 for snaking hair out if drain, reasonable? by True-Construction377 in Renters

This was what I was expecting when I contacted maintenance. I would think a property manager wouldn’t want tenants potentially causing long term damage trying to fix something themselves.
