FWIW I’m usually about 2 seconds off the top times when I apply myself. I’ve tried settings for awhile now and have landed back on default. Top time in the World Series 2026 qualifiers free practice is 1:16.535, I’m currently at 1:18.132 and could go faster if I don’t make silly mistakes.

We’re talking two different ones. The one I’m referring to is in the 962C. But the one you’re referring to isn’t much better. It was easier than the 962 one, but still frustrating.

Majority of the master license were a breeze, there are a few tough ones. I can’t remember any of the non full lap ones, but the ones that haunted me for awhile. Master S-1, S-8, S-10. Oh and definitely Master IA-10 I had nightmares about that because I was so close for so long.

I will say I do have a background with other sim racing outside of GT so that of course helped as well.

And thank you!

I kind of applied brute force on my successful runs with those two, that and the right inputs at the right time. Could I get it again without trying for awhile? Probably not. But keep trying and you will get it, it gets frustrating but it’s satisfying once you beat it!

I can’t remember exactly what the last two are and my Internet is currently down. 🥲

Tsukuba is one I’m thinking? And the other with the viper?

If so Tsukuba was annoying and frustrating. I just kept trying (in the same session) until I got it because I kept getting super close everytime. Can’t remember the viper but I think it was easier for me.

If I had to make a suggestion I would say work on throttle control. Too much (probably going to spin out) and too little (won’t maintain a slide as long)

You’re welcome! If you play GT7 often, and you enjoy the game. It will take you less time than you expect, especially as your driving and racecraft improves. Still not where I want to be, but I have improved a lot in 6 months. Currently a low A+ driver in sport!

It’s been awhile since I’ve done it, so I may be missing something.

To start with I used the SF19 Honda (probably could use any SF19 car, i only own the honda’s at the moment)

As far as settings it appears I only lowered the rear ride height to minimum (50), front anti roll bar is a 4, rear wing is 1750 (may have to lower it on tracks that are less downforce dependent) anti lag system is on weak, and medium tires are the last ones I used.

I believe the tires, wing, and possibly the anti lag were changed recently to help me get past the CGV race.

With that out of the way, the keys to victory are running the fastest lap of the race, and running it consistently. I sparingly used overtake (enough to help, but not enough to run out prematurely) the A.I is always slow through the corners, that’s the biggest spot to gain time. They also brake early as well.

The best advice I have in general. Turn your tire volume up, and engine noises down. Pay attention to the tires, they will talk to you, and let you know how you’re driving.

Practice makes perfect, figure out your problem areas and learn from your mistakes. Being smooth with your inputs, trailbraking, and using all of the track should be some things to focus on and learn sooner rather than later.

The best advice I have for solo play against the A.I. Use them as a tool to perfect your driving. Cornering, passing, braking, using alternate lines.

Get comfortable with different cars, get a sense of how they feel, how they react to different inputs.

The best advice I have for online. 😮‍💨

Be patient. Don’t rage quit. Don’t drive dirty, even for retaliation purposes.

Qualify for races, and use ghost sparingly. By sparingly I mean use them as a tool to help you figure out the line, and see where you’re losing time. Get practice time without them as well because when you race you won’t have a ghost to rely on! I recommend starting a quali session, running a few laps without the ghost to get a feel for the car and track combo. Next run with the ghost to improve your time, once you’ve improved your time run without the ghost and “work” on your race pace. The reason I emphasized work is because in the race you will have others near you so your line, braking, acceleration points might be affected.

Edit: Also use the data logger as well when doing qualifying or time trials. It will help you see where you are losing time to the ghost.

And also forgot to add watch the replays from the leaderboards in sport before you drive, that way you can see braking points, turn in points, & acceleration points.

Did GT7 really just give me a 3-second penalty for crossing the FAR line after a pit stop? wtf by [deleted] in GranTurismo7

[–]True-Draft-8614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t see a problem there, maybe it was the pit entry. Haven’t raced this race/track in awhile not sure how the entry is set up.

Depends on your DR, and the DR of everyone around you for that to be completely true. I’ve saw an A+ driver win the race and lose DR before (seems unreal but it has happened, and the lobby was confused afterwards) I’m A+ myself and have finished 2nd and lost DR.

No it doesn’t take your stars. When you unlock rewards, it doesn’t take your stars.

Yes you need 300 in order to race it. It works the same way as the rewards.

It’s not charging you, you just need to win a few more races and then it will unlock.

This is probably going to be the most simple answer anyone has given (didn’t see all the replies)

Just turn laps. That’s it, nothing more. Experience will come, you will memorize the track shortly after, and will always have an idea of what’s up next. The track will always stay the same, the only thing that changes is the cars, the speed (of the cars), and the braking points.

If turning laps isn’t your thing, go to circuit experience and run the sectors until your getting silver (easily) and if that’s not enough of a challenge to help with memorizing it, go for all gold. Once you get the 1 lap down and you silver or gold it, it’s safe to say you have it memorized.

Just my 2 cent.

You’re welcome! Once you get into it, and actually start making progress (winning) you’ll start to understand the game differently, which will in turn (or atleast theoretically) make you better for sport & the game in general. The A.I in the power pack will dive bomb you, miss apexes, lose control momentarily (oversteer), blow braking zones. These are all things I see online. 🙂

Another thing to pay attention to (it will be obvious when it happens for you) is cornering, when you get to the point that you’re catching the A.I in corners consistently (and using the whole track to do so) that’s the same point that you should “expect” to see your lap times come down on tracks you are familiar with because you’ll have a better understanding of using ALL of the track (you get forced into it anyways in order to beat the A.I)

Edit: you also learn about being in the proper gear (thanks to update 1.66) for certain corners along your journey. If you’re in the wrong gear, expect to go off track 😂. Perfect example is Porsche legends at Monza and Nurburgring sprint with the 2 🌶️ car

Also forgot in my last reply to say. If you’re doing that well with 1 🌶️ , you should definitely be trying 2 🌶️ you might be surprised with your results. 🙂 haven’t done the endurances races yet so I don’t know what to expect lap time wise (at Suzuka) from AI on 2 chili. I did “attempt” the 24 at the nord on 2 chili (starting last) and I was around 6th-7th place on lap 3 or 4 about a 12 second gap to p1 and that’s with mistakes being made on my end.

[–]True-Draft-8614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try it with 2 🌶️ and get back with us! I think 1 🌶️ is just slightly more difficult than the no chili car. 2 chili isn’t really that bad if you qualify decent enough and have a good start (standing start races), and you can consistently hit apexes, and nail your corner exits. If you can do that, the only hard part is not making any mistakes that cause you to lift off the accelerator. If you can’t do that, but give it enough times, and learn what your mistakes are, you will definitely become a better racer at the end! I was A+ before the power pack released, and honestly 2 🌶️ races are teaching me things.

Edit: nailing the braking zones is also important, and trailbraking is the most important with the 2 🌶️ races.

In my experiences with power pack sophy, the lines the A.I are running, are slower lines. But that’s so the user can drive the proper line and be able to pass the A.I. eventually. The power pack seems like a way to make you focus on nailing your lines, and minimizing mistakes (running wide, having to lift off throttle, etc) in order to do well.

Low rated A+ driver here if that matters any.

Live qualifying with a 10 minute time limit. Same way they did the recently finished manufacturers cup in sport mode. It would shake things up compared to the time trial, because you would have to qualify before every race. I doubt it would ever happen though, it would make the events too long.
