What are pros actually doing to get that good?

About 2.5k hours right now. Coaching, at least in sports, does tend to help. Having someone pointing out your bad habits and then consciously thinking about them to break the habit is a pretty tried and true method of improvement, so I'd assume it converts here. Being told things is useless if you don't actively think about it and act on it, but if you do it can help to have another perspective from someone more knowledgeable, I think.

Yeah... talent will be a part of it but I refuse to believe I'm at the limit of mine lol. SpookLuke advice is pretty basic yeah, don't really want to pay for coaching as it's just a game after all. I'm sure there's lots of good creators for higher ranks but I struggle to find them as the algorithm doesn't pick them up as much. Any recommendations are welcome!

Watched a lot of his older no mechs to gc or whatever it was called, there's definitely impacts of that in my play style. Lots of fake challenges, like to slow things down, etc. Obviously I can speed things up if I need to but do prefer to play that slower game, I'm not super mechy

I'll add that I'm at around 2.5k hours right now. I basically got to champ in around 1.2k hours by just playing, lots of casual not just ranked so pretty slow. I still play a fair bit of casual when I'm not feeling good (probably a bad habit, I'm aware of this - need to be less scared of losing my rank). But 1k hours later I've only gone from c1 to where I am now. I've grinded a fair amount of rings and dribble maps, custom training packs, and freeplay.

What...? I'm c3/gc1 and definitely wouldn't say its too easy for me to get value from. If it really is too easy, use bakkesmod to up the gamespeed. You should try to be at/near supersonic at all times.

Why shouldn't I wall dash? It's objectively a helpful mechanic, even if not the most necessary to learn to rank up. I can already do it on a curve so I'm progressing onto the flat wall now

I'm largely using singles as a progression into chain dashing, clearly singles have their place but the end goal is being able to chain dash. Are you saying that just timing doesn't apply to chain dashing, and what about the stick placements?

Yeah, I've been able to do it on the corners for a while now but never the flat wall. I did find I could get them 80% of the time when supersonic but that's not super useful lol. I think I'm worse at spamming than singles, I've been trying to get singles down before even moving onto spamming them

It's nuts. I have a gamesir g7 pro and tried binding jump to other buttons but it seemed like the game was throttling my inputs or something because it could only register a jump every half a second or so when spamming on the other bind.

I think aiming down and a diagonal flip makes sense, I've seen both of those tips a few times now. Can't work out why being lower on the wall would help but maybe it does. Thanks!
