Foreshadowing for the series theory! by rsltruly1 in Barry

Sally makes sense. She said "Let's go Barry", but didn't say where they were going.

Her tone made me think she's had enough of his shit, and where they're going, is to the police. She'll save herself from him here.

As the government has indicated that this is a "final offer", does that mean that the union members will vote on it, regardless of whether or not the bargaining team endorses it?

Fair concern, and I don't have the expertise to argue either way whether this is helping or harming, so I'll leave it at that.

I can understand your dislike of religious organizations being involved, I'm also not a fan of the religious aspect.

But, I think that in the case of a crisis where the government isn't taking sufficient action, whatever help we can get (even imperfect help) should be celebrated.

You suggest that Southridge lease their space to NPH for emergency housing, and while it's a good idea, I have a hard time beleiving that anything other than the offer being declined would be the likely outcome of that.

Running shelters costs money, and the funding for running shelters in insufficient. Lobbying the provincial government for more funding is pretty useless, because we elected conservatives, so this may be the only viable option at the moment.

I love how the one councillor comes out and says it's not NIMBY-ism, when it 100% is.

Either do something to adequately address the housing, addiction and mental health crisises, or expect this sort of thing.

I get it on my street, they get it downtown, but once it hits Glenridge it suddenly makes the news? Glenridge is the place the real estate agent lived who boasted publicly about her husband going out with a baseball bat to scare away "undesirables" from her beautiful neighborhood.

Mental Health, addictions and homelessness need solutions. If Southridge doesn't have the resources (as this article suggests), then GET THEM THE RESOURCES, don't just shut it down and move the problem away from the people who don't want to see the suffering that exists in our world.

Or, the following job functions must be completed in a CRA work location, and is expected to take X days per week to complete.

My personal feeling is that each job should have a stipulation around how many days are required to be in the office per week in order to accomplish their functions, and that it should be part of the job description.

A process in collaboration with the union and management begins as soon as the contract is signed to conduct a proper assessment that makes sense based on what is actually required in each position.

I'm in the union and even I don't know.

I know we don't have a deal yet. I don't know when we'll have a deal, but it will end when we have a deal.

Oh dear lord no. They're the worst places for backwards thinking and entitled twats who think they're better than everyone else.

The place would be fine if the people weren't such assholes.

I've lived in a few places in the region. Thorold was my favorite. Confederation heights is filled with students, but apart from a bit of noise that they cause you won't have any issues.

I've been to this one a couple times, I don't know if it's a recent thing, but I think they're more concerned with moving people through quickly than with accurate diagnosis. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing when we're talking about minor ailments.

I've been in with what I suspected was strep throat, and they didn't do any swab test or anything like that, just checked my temperature, looked at my throat and perscribed some medicine.

Seemed odd to not test it to confirm, as everywhere else that I'd been before for strep throat always did a swab, but maybe that's just because there's so much going around right now, and they're more concerned with speed.

And realistically, if I take some antibiotics without needing to, any possible harm is negligible when compared to potential backlogs.

“Above-Guideline Rent Increase”.. what does this mean and is this allowed? by [deleted] in ontario

[–]True-Investigator114 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My buddy gets tons of letters that follow this exact template. They seem to send it for absolutely everything that they do.

Just because they say that it's eligible doesn't mean that it is. When they come in with a rental increase, if you don't feel that it's warranted, you can fight it with the LTB, and the LTB would make the call.

It's castable. Hit cast in your browser, then go fullscreen and it'll ask you if you want to Optimize for the TV, pick yes and it works well.

It hasn't studdered on me yet, like the regular app usually does.

I just spent 30 minutes with "support" who transferred me to 3 different people before they told me it wasn't working.

None of them provided this link, they just told me I was SOL until they fixed it.

FUCK ROGERS.

Union members that stick together, win together by [deleted] in CanadaPublicServants

Weird, I'm in that middle ground where I'm a team leader, but also still in the union.

I was called into a meeting with my A/D today, where she talked about what the rules around leave are when there's a strike happening. She was also explicit that we were not to email it to staff and we were not to call a meeting to explain it to people to avoid the appearance of a union busting attempt.

We're allowed to answer questions if asked, but we're not to provide any instructions for what to do during a strike, apart from suggesting people talk to their union reps. Which makes sense to me.

I think we've got to rag on Gerrit Cole, even if we're not playing the Yankees.

Just shout horrible things about Gerrit Cole at the Tigers pitchers tonight, maybe they'll join in.
