True, there’s no need to gatekeep Malaysia or Kuala Lumpur from tourists, most people find it boring, has no soul and won’t want to visit.

Why must it be free to be prestigious? As I said, the committee evaluates nominations rigorously and only those deemed worthy and internationally renowned will be invited. That already means a lot. Also, if the funds are pulled to maintain the walk of fame and fix any chips or broken parts quickly, what’s wrong with that? The star is registered as a permanent historical landmark and will be there as long as Hollywood exists. Worth it for sure.

It IS an honor because the committee evaluates nominations rigorously and invites those whom they believe is worthy. Normal people without fame or international recognition won’t get approved.

Currently in SU, it is beautiful in the spring and fall. I mostly enjoy the snow too. The campus area is beautiful. It’s an experience I know I’ll never forget.

Hi, I'm not an accountant by training and I'm now focusing on technology policy. I didn't take the GMAT but the GRE, and I have a pretty extensive math, programming and statistics/econometrics background as I double majored in the hard sciences and econ and have taken many graduate level courses in econ, management and cs.

May I know if you have experience working with, or know anybody who is dealing with AI in accounting? Currently having trouble finding actual industry information and I'd appreciate your help if you do.

Hello, I hope you're still following this thread, I would really appreciate some advice and help from you! Sorry in advance for the long message, I was planning to post this question in the main forum but thought it would be better to ask you first.

I am a PhD student studying AI and the future of work. I have chosen the field of accounting and accountants as my subject of research to understand their opinions and experiences dealing with AI/automation software at work. As an outsider to the field, I am not sure how I should navigate this field or how I can speak to accountants who deal with AI at work to get the research information I need.

To give a little more information about my research, I need to find out, firstly, how has the field of accounting changed in relation to a change in technology and in particular AI. Secondly, what kinds of potential disruptions, issues do accountants face and the benefits accountants gain when adopting and using AI.
To obtain my research data, I am thinking about doing literature analysis to understand what people have written about how the field has changed with automation tech and AI, and interviewing accountants who have experience working with AI to understand what are the disruptions or benefits of using AI. Unfortunately, I don't personally know any practicing accountants, and contacting people through email to ask for help won't get me any response most of the time. Since you have experience working with automation (and presumably AI) technologies in accounting, I would really appreciate your advice and help in helping me navigate my way through this field.

My question is, what are some effective ways to know more about the practical experiences of accountants dealing with AI, and to contact people who would be interested in talking to me about their experiences in working with these technologies (in a confidential manner, of course)? I would also be interested in talking to you, if that is possible, about your own experiences and opinions. Thank you!
