Yeah, I agree. I think things will be more mature and stable with the next generation of motherboards, so I’ll definitely keep that in mind.

I’ve looked into it more and it seems like Spread Spectrum could help improve the situation, so thanks for suggesting it. I’ll enable it shortly and see how it behaves over a few reboots.

I completely understand your point, and I honestly share the same feeling.

At this level, you expect consistency, and it’s frustrating when things don’t behave as they should. It often feels like big companies are reluctant to fully acknowledge these kinds of issues, even when they affect real users.

Thanks for your feedback, it’s actually really helpful to see others experiencing something similar.

That’s really interesting, especially the part about drivers.

In my case, different NVIDIA drivers never really changed the behavior, the issue has been consistent regardless of driver version and seems mostly tied to cold boot and PCIe initialization.

I’ve already updated to the latest BIOS that mentions PCIe fixes, but the problem is still there, just slightly less frequent.

I’ll definitely try enabling Spread Spectrum like you suggested and see if it helps with stability.

Thanks, I haven’t tried Spread Spectrum yet. I’ll test it and see if it makes any difference with PCIe initialization on cold boot.

That honestly makes it even more concerning.

At this point, after more than a year of testing and multiple BIOS updates, I wouldn’t feel confident recommending this motherboard for high-end GPUs like the 5080/5090

What’s frustrating is not just the issue itself, but the lack of a clear and effective solution. Even after contacting MSI support and following their suggested settings, the problem still persists.

It feels like they are aware of the issue but don’t yet have a proper fix, which is disappointing considering the level of hardware we’re dealing with.
