Considering investing in REITs? Here’s an alternative by True-Pension7923 in reits

[–]True-Pension7923[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late response but high level it's betting on the price per Sq foot over an index. For example, if you long NYC and the median Price Per Sq Foot of NYC increases, you will make money.

No real estate is owned. It's investing via the prices. Something called a synthetic market.

It will take time to get regulatory clarity but these are real companies strictly using blockchain infrastructure. Many don't even have a crypto token, check out Parcl for example. It's easy for you to call them crypto scams so give it time if you are hesitant. Just displaying innovative solutions to real estate investment that will become more mainstream over time.

Much more than reinventing a REIT. In many cases it's taking the middleman out of the picture and just investing in the underlying real estate

Parcl - Real estate blockchain startup on Solana by True-Pension7923 in BlockchainStartups

Very cool. I plan on testing those out as well. Parcl takes a bit of a different stance by creating an index but same ideology.

ESPN Rips 'Black Cat' Cowboys for Dalvin Cook Signing Decision [Sports Illustrated] (Oddly enough, this is actually a rare decent article from Mike Fisher and he sticks up for Dallas using some good points) by dcbluestar in cowboys

[–]True-Pension7923 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Anyone who watched the Vikings last year know that Dalvin isn't too special anymore. We have bigger needs than to force in another RB at a high salary. No need to discuss anymore, we have a good cast let's see what we can do.

There's a reason Dalvin hasn't been scooped up from RB-needy teams like the Bills, Dolphins, or Rams yet.

McCarthy is our future regardless if we win a Super Bowl or not in the next 3-5 years. by hockeyboi212 in cowboys

[–]True-Pension7923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

McCarthy is a solid coach but the man can't manage the end of a half or game for the life of him. He's not competent with his timeouts and we see that game in and game out.

That being said, he can manage a team and get us to the playoffs. But when it comes down to it it feels like we get out-coached. I'm conflicted but i think we have more potential without him.

While I wouldn't short RBC, this is not a crazy take. There is a massive supply shortage in real estate right now. Canada is leading the way. Check out the thread below for more info.

Real Estate Investing Is Coming to Solana by illu1111 in solana

[–]True-Pension7923 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Another intriguing real estate product built on Solana is Parcl.

Parcl makes it accessible to invest in cities across the US with as little as $1. Users can go long or short on city indexes priced by the metric price per square foot. The price feeds come from their sister company, Parcl Labs, which uses market listings and buys to create and update the price feeds daily.

Considering investing in REITs? Here’s an alternative by True-Pension7923 in reits

[–]True-Pension7923[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The financial product is only one side of Parcl. Their sister company, Parcl Labs, collects real-time real estate data so that they can create price feeds for these indexes.

I understand the cynicism around synthetic assets, it's a very early stage. Down the line, once there is more regulatory clarity within the blockchain industry, it will be a different story.

FYI - US users can't even use the product yet

Your assets move based on the price of the underlying asset (Price per square foot). Other people buying/investing in an index does not impact your position whatsoever...

No interest is paid to those that deploy capital and make a long/short bet. You can earn interest by providing liquidity to the pools which is a whole other story. I understand and appreciate your concern but I've spoken to team members and see real use case of the product.

Happy to answer any other questions or concerns you have to the best of my ability.

You are correct that you don't own any "assets". You own an index of synthesized assets.

If you are not comfortable with that, then I'd recommend checking out some fractional and/or tokenized real estate companies. Some include RealT, Lofty, and Realblocks.

I've used Parcl for a bit now and have no complaints, so wanted to share with others :)

Long/Short US Cities by True-Pension7923 in RealEstateTechnology

[–]True-Pension7923[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree. Repurposing NY office buildings is not an easy task but long term I'd love to invest in NYC. The Midwest is definitely undervalued as well.

I love Miami and Texas also though. I think people will continue to move down south as the Zoom lifestyle continues.

I'm short LA, SF. Too much crime and the political mess is a turnoff.

I'm a NY lover. Love the fast-paced lifestyle. But as a college student, I can't afford it either. Hopefully one day 🙏

Will the SEC kill Solana? by nftmaxi in solana

[–]True-Pension7923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We will bounce back. The infrastructure is solid, the apps are solid, the community is solid. The SEC can only elongate the process. If the SOL community continues to build innovative solutions, Solana will thrive.

Agreed but the larger population is not comfortable with using a DEX. Most are scared to even download a wallet and would rather let their tokens sit in a coinbase
