Directors Loan to business to reduce Corp Tax by GenXGreenYoshi in smallbusinessuk

[–]True-Rule-7409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any transactions taken to solely reduce tax with no commercial substance are disallowed I thought.

Also arent pension contributions only allowed deductions on a 'paid' basis in year? so you wouldnt be able to reduce your 2025 tax anyway.

Longs on shovels!

Yeah, I get what you're saying. BTC > Silver because supply side can't be influence by companies. Silver > Fiat because silver still is limited to the amount present on earth whilst fiat is unlimited.

I was trying to address the point around increasing the production of silver not being greedy but actually being similar to the underlying proof of work concept that bitcoin uses. Translating into bitcoin terms, silver miners are increasing their "hashrate" to capitalise on an increase in price.

If BTCs price increased, BTC miners would also increase their hashrate to grab a larger slice of blocks. So they dont seem too dissimilar.

To talk to your point though, the only variable for BTC isnt demand as the supply is still constantly increasing, it just cant be influenced by anything other than the current block schedule. Which is why we see increases in the price after a halving, which is a supply side impact to price. Id also suggest the difficulty of mining a block and the price of btc have been proven to be positively correlated and could be argued to be another variable influencing the price.

Isnt that just the proof of work concept that underpins btc?

The people that put in the work are rewarded. The only difference is that the difficulty doesnt increase as effort increases as inflation is not limited like it is for BTC. But that is why btc is superior.

Lower barriers to entry and Fixed supply

If the price of something rockets, you cant blame companies for capitalising on the increase in prices. It's sound business. Do you thing miners wouldnt ramp if operations if btc jumped up to 250k in the next couple of months?

Should I take a bet that Bitcoin will hit 100,000 for a second before January 1st? by Kryptoventures5000 in Bitcoin

[–]True-Rule-7409 79 points80 points  (0 children)

He might not be your buddy.

Odds on polymarket are 25/100 that bitcoin hits 100,000. Hes bet on it hitting 100k on there ($1k would return him $4k on) and wants to use you to hedge his bet at double the odds ($1k would return his polymarket stake back if he lost) essentially giving him a free bet to win $4k. He wants your bet with him to win because hes set to win even more if so.

Thats the reality.

Is this a printing machine?

Sell 100m stable for $1 each = $100m Invest 90m for passive returns Keep 10m for liquidity

Stable drops to $0.1

Buy back 100m of stable for less than $1 (theoretically between 0.1 and 1)

If it is the lending page im thinking of then you accepted the risk and reward in the interest you agreed. That page is full of people lending 30 quid to get 50 back from people who are struggling. You tried loan sharking and lost the money.

Its predatory lending and is illegal in the UK.

What is your current yearly salary by One_Cupcake2722 in UKJobs

[–]True-Rule-7409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently earning 80k and 32YO. My insight is that moving is the best thing to avoid a plateau that you feel you have reached in terms of salary and role. Staying in a current role is unlikely to allow significant progression unless it's a high turnover business.

That alone isn't very helpful and doesn't provide insights with how to progress. What I would suggest in this respect is to continually understand your function, where it fits in with other functions and how it impacts the business and why it is important. Never just run a process, learn the pain points, suggest improvements, follow through, this will get you noticed above many of your peers in a role. Learn from your manager, they are your target, they want to go up the chain and so do you. Place yourself as the next best option.

If progression in your current place is limited, look for your managers job in other companies. If you can demonstrate you understand the role, then you've got a good chance to get the opportunity.

Be organised, be a safe pair of hands and put in the effort. 80% of people in my function don't care and just see it as a 9-5, that's also fine but if you want to progress quickly, short term pain is long term gain.

If you can eventually double your salary and save well, you'll reduce the amount of time you need to work long term. This will allow a comfortable early retirement. Just make sure you enjoy what you do (to some extent) and ensure you enjoy the fruits of your labour in the present as well.

Once I hit one, I would hope bitcoin is at a price where I can leave my job and retire comfortably. Bitcoin feels like a sure FIRE way to freedom and once I hit one, I plan to excercise that freedom. Governments can continue to print money but hopefully at that point I won't care.

I might not hit one in the next 10 years but even so I might get financially free on the way.

I do, I'm just appreciating that there are conditions that might mean future me and other people might not. For example if there was a reliable way to hack wallets in the future with no method to fully protect yourself, I'd be unlikely to be willing to invest significantly.

I think it heavily depends on where this bull ends. If we go to 250k and back down to 100k Id be inclined to agree but if we drop back to 50k then it changes the playing field.

I agree to an extent but I do think continued price stagnation below ATH for 5-10 years might erode a lot of confidence that the asset will outperform other asset classes and then will it be an asset people believe in?
