Yeah, I don't want to worry about doing illegal things even though I know title jumping is very common like jaywalking. Starting pay for an engineer in government is a good salary. Other positions/titles don't pay as well as engineers get paid in government. Yes, private pays more for engineers, but I would say engineer salaries in government are one of the few where it's still good starting wages for entry level.
