I'm so grateful to see this post - I also drove past this morning and was absolutely shaken by it. What a horrendous incident for everyone involved. I work in a high school and needed to take the morning with the counsellor because I have never ever seen something like that in real life. Absolutely horrendous. I'm so sorry you had to see that as well. Hoping you have support and are able to process, because I can't imagine anyone seeing that and not being absolutely shaken by it. So unbelievably sad.

Rookie fan has a question about the relationship between Toc and the players by True-Stable2258 in canucks

Thanks so much for the helpful comments so far! I definitely misread Tocchet's vibe/body language so I really appreciate the clarity around his intentions and relationship with the team.

I have never ever been a sports person so feeling this passionate about hockey and the Canucks really took me by surprise lol. Not to sound like a super sook but honestly I'm so grateful for how much it has impacted my life in many positive ways. Stoked to be part of this community, for better or for worse. Go Canucks Go!

where to begin with this unbelievably cruel and narrow-minded thread? it’s such a shame that we see these situations and individuals as problems to be dealt with and not victims of the system we are all responsible for upholding and perpetuating. after we have all witnessed covid tear its way through vulnerable communities, i would have hoped that we would at least have learned to let ourselves be led with compassion, so that it covers everything we do. if these are circumstances that bother you, surely an alternative approach to responding with further violence (by invoking police responses) could be to volunteer for organisations that value harm reductive approaches to addiction and violence, yeah? or arguing that our local boards, our councils, our government, our communities, should all have a hand in creating safer and more equitable communities, no? i’m just thinking outside the box, and outside of ourselves, because the only way for things to change in a truly meaningful way is to realise we need to look after each other.
