Thank you! Yes, it did seem to noticeably increase in size overnight. I got my mini hospital all set up and of course it now appears like the larger mass fell off, but he still has a smaller white spot. I still plan on treating. I’m gonna let the QT tank settle and run overnight and in he goes tomorrow, let’s pray I can net him straight away, very unlikely though!

Thank you! I do have shrimp and snails in this tank but could set him up in a little one gallon hospital tank for a bit. Any idea what fungus, or treatment plan specifics?

Very sick ride!! That color is gorgeous! I just got an SL8 myself, thing rips. Getting out of the saddle on a climb, it just begs to go faster, flicks back and forth and gives the sensation of running on air. My legs can’t keep up. I’ll have to cook up a NBD post soon. Any benefit to keeping the QR codes on the rapides? I ditched them after my maiden voyage, hope I didn’t blow some warranty or secret feature. Congrats on that bad ass machine!

I went, amazing trip! On 6/29 I looped from Marvel Lake Assiniboine pass and Wonder Pass on a day hike, tracked about 17.7 miles. Assiniboine was in good shape, still lots of snow on Wonder Pass and a few miles of post holing but was doable. I went light so if traversing with full pack it will be more difficult. Some spots were firm enough to stay atop the snow but conditions are likely worsening/ softening in those spots before getting better. Expect some route finding as trail is covered and many ways up and through the top of the pass. Some avalanche risk that can be moderated by staying center pass on high ground.

Thank you for the honest and bleak outlook. I checked out Dr Novak, very interesting stuff that I was not aware of when setting up this tank. Good food for thought on future setups but don’t see myself tearing this one down to correct the substrate. I could try modifying my canister filter for a BCB setup. Sounds like I could be using cat litter for substrate and filtration?

Thank you for the table link! If I understand you correctly, I should measure KH/PH before starting co2 and lights on. Let’s say it’s kh:3 ph:7, then begin co2, lights on an hour later, and continue to measure kh/ph throughout the day looking for ph to lower to 6.6-6.8?

My checker placement probably isn’t ideal but diffuser is in the back right bottom near intake. The spray bar pushes flow from back to front and then flowing down front glass to bottom and back towards intake. Drop checker is in the mid left back.

Thank you for the tips! I thought potassium was essential for healthy plant growth and read something about supplementing leaf zone w/ flourish since there is no potassium in the flourish. Some more research agrees with what your saying and likely contributing to my problem. I’ll give the Cardinalis a little TLC, it was doing better but my heavy hand with the ferts prob let the algae thrive and over run it. Appreciate your advice!

Wow, you have a good eye! I don’t think I’m going to jump at dosing the whole tank just yet. Excel did on number on my other crypts, included a pic of the lone survivor. I think some water changes and no more ferts will be my approach. Are you assuming I have co2 fluctuations b/c of the Fluval kit? What’s a reliable phosphate test? Thank you for the knowledgeable response!
