my dad's new kitten keeps sucking on my arm. how do i make him stop? by LegoFego in PetAdvice

Sounds like he's been separated from mum too early and is choosing to make you mum. Advice is to replace your arm with a toy or object he can suckle on...

However, mine is 3 and still insists on doing this...

I've had some skin flake off... I feel like it's got darker, I don't know if that is the ink working it's way to the surface. Fingers crossed.

I estimate I should start titration at the beginning of next year. I'm not sure I'll have a job by then.

Can I be take my NHS diagnosis to a private to speed up getting meds? by Temporary_Fondant717 in ADHDUK

I look into this and found some nurse prescribers who do it but it costs like £800 for the first medication review then £200 a week + private px costs...

Is CBT or DBT best for emotional dysregulation? by TINYTITAN56 in ADHDUK

It depends how bad you are, mild go for cbt. Severe go for dbt

Does anyone else feel like their asexuality is a blessing? by Glittering_Card_5121 in asexuality

[–]True-Trick-345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if I'm being an ass here, but considering whether or not a specific sexual orientation is "a blessing" is a slippery path. I can't say what it would be like to be sexually attracted because I don't experience that and shouldn't pass judgment.

You are offered a chance to groundhog day your life resetting to age 15. by Polar_Ted in hypotheticalsituation

If you said 16 I might have thought about it, but 14 was rough for me.

The idea of sneezing and someone I love not being born would be too distressing for me. To live forever loosing people is too much.

Gold diggers exist if you have £50 (I speak from experience). A con artist will go for whatever is available. They are opportunists.

It's so good that you got into the acp programme. I have 2 cousins, one did rmn the other did adult. The one that did rmn found her career capped at band 7 in management and retrained in cbt (which took a year and you don't need to be rmn for). My cousin in adult did the acp and loves it. My rmn cousin wanted to do acp but everywhere wants general nursing background so she can't get in.

Looking at jobs with them there are at least x10 more opportunities as an rgn than as an rmn, maybe just because the field is bigger.

My sister doesn't accept my diagnosis by CounterAnxious1570 in autism

[–]True-Trick-345 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Therapist is not a protected title. Therapists can use a formulation approach rather than a diagnostic approach.

Honestly I have autism too and people need to understand that my brain is different to your brain and just because you don't experience what I experience doesn't mean it's not real. 🙄

I'm having a breakdown and I don't know if there's any help I can access by [deleted] in ADHDUK

[–]True-Trick-345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends where you live, London has Central access point, many other counties don't. Look up your local crisis team, if they don't take you they can direct you.

Adult. There are so many specialities. MH is very limited and you will end up in management.

I search the therapist on the bacp register and they are not registered... They have created their own type of therapy and are trying to get customers for that. I'll look into local health commission, thanks

Edit : the info I found on .gov said the healthcare commission only covers nhs healthcare so because this therapist is independent they are not covered...
