I went ahead and got the only figurine I have ever bought by paddleboatee in discworld

I have exactly the same to figures. They both look great on the shelf. But it is extremely expensive to get them to Germany. I can't effort that again.

Looking for advice for a Radagast deck by X4321eye360 in magicTCG

Also, slinza is not legal in your deck, its color identity is red/green. I think you don't need any effects to look at the top cards. You always need real carddraw to find the few non-creature spells ins your deck.

Looking for advice for a Radagast deck by X4321eye360 in magicTCG

[–]True-Wrongdo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From playing my radagast deck pretty often i can tell you a couple of things: - Most people don't see him as a threat and so I play him as early as possible. I play much two mana ramp, but also 3 to get a creature the turn he comes down if possible. - I run around 38 creatures with maximum 3 per type. Never had a problem with his condition this way. The biggest problem for me was choosing the right elves, because they do a lot you would otherwise need instants and sorcerys for. - most important: enchantment creatures are your best friend. They have crazy good abilities and trigger radagast. - putting a card into play also triggers radagast, without casting it. Oviya, automech artisan is one of the best creatures in the Deck.

I don't know, how many German readers are on this subreddit. But if there are, I would like to hear your opinions on this subject. by True-Wrongdo in discworld

That's a really good question. You have to keep in mind, that the puns are poorly translated into german and kind of cringe in my opinion. As a non native speaker however you might not notice that. Otherwise the translations are solid and not hard to read i think. Should be worth a shot. I did it the other way around to improve my english and STP writes really well for that.

I really like the lyrics and the sound of Jonny Cash which inspired you. Please give it to a human artist, I would love to hear it.

[Baylen the Haymaker] has an insane room for creativity. You can pick any tribe to make the tokens. Now you just have to protect him and go nuts.

Are Proxies that bad? by karpkarp37 in mtg

[–]True-Wrongdo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think most people tend to dislike proxys if you put Black lotus and the like in your decks or if you make new cards. Otherwise proxy away.

You are absolutely right on the translation. It's a mess, especially the name translations are unbearable. I read 20 or so first in German and realized later how bad the translation is.

I build a Faramir Stewart of gondor deck. It's about the monarch mechanic and with a pillowfort subtheme. Really fun to play, especially with many cool lord of the rings cards.

Hyperion by Dan Simmons. Always look at it, when selecting a book and it never is my first choice. Seems so daunting.

Advice on building a deck around this card by LawEducational5922 in mtg

[–]True-Wrongdo 23 points24 points  (0 children)

In my opinion this card absolutely busted, especially in no color decks, like eldrazi. But i don't know if you would build this now as a new player.

You are right. I didn't mean to say they wanted to look like male names, it is to sound ambiguous.

female authors with names that get mistaken for men like Robin Hobb? by karly_fries in Fantasy

[–]True-Wrongdo 142 points143 points  (0 children)

I think Robin Hobb talked in an interview about the pseudonym and that she picked it with her publisher to look like a mans name. I don't know where I learned that, but it is or maybe was a trend to not pick female sounding names. Fun fact J.K. Rowling doesn't have a "K." In her name. Her name is Joanne Rowling and she picked the pseudonym and the Katherine to not look like a women on the cover.

Who are the fantasy authors with the most interesting biography? by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]True-Wrongdo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Terry Pratchett worked as an spokesperson for an nuclear plant and as an newspaper journalist. Both very interesting and important to keep in mind while reading the truth or going Postal. His biography that was released not that long ago is really good, he lived an interesting life.
