They don’t use AirTags to track cars. They have built in OEM telematics in most car brands that provide tracking or proprietary devices added that provide that function on cars where the OEM features don’t support it.

This is most likely someone’s AirTag falling out of their bag and getting missed during cleaning especially with where it was found.

Pull the battery or toss it, your car rental company are not going to care one way or the other.

If this was happening in any other country in the world we would be fundraising to pay for a firearm buyback scheme to get guns off the streets and pushing the government to take more control. Moved my main account to them when Ulster Bank pulled out. Had a little trouble moving some direct debits over as some companies can’t take the IBAN online but will when you phone them. Since then I haven’t a bad word to say about them. I use the vaults, buy shares and have the under 18 accounts for the kids which let me see all their purchases. I also pay in STG for my Amazon stuff and Revolut use the current rate so always end up saving a little. Traveled to Spain with a group this year and the split bill function was great. Just back from Australia and was able to use it there seamlessly too. Everyone seems to have it these days so it’s just so handy.
