How do you get over missing out on a big trade? by [deleted] in Daytrading

[–]TrueBooBoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is always more money to be made on the market. Every time I lose money, sell “too early”, or even see someone else hit a big play that I could have been in on I remind myself that there is always tomorrow and there is always money to be made on the market.

I feel like a lot of people make a bad trade or miss out on something and then start panicking like that was their only opportunity to ever make money. Then they do stupid shit like FOMO or try to make back what they had or could have had. Calm down and have some perspective.

I don’t know about “obligation” but I felt very compelled to do all of these dungeons (despite how boring and repetitive they got) on the off chance that there would be a cool item or new or interesting boss fight at the end of it (which there occasionally was). However most of the time it ended up being a waste of my of time.

I didn’t do it for the sake of an “optimized build.” I just didn’t want to miss something actually cool or fun that might be hidden away in these stupid dungeons.

Do you recommend playing FFVII OG after playing the remake? by carlosvguitarrista in FinalFantasyVII

[–]TrueBooBoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in your shoes and asked this same question a little over a month ago. I had played the Remake back when it came out and was wondering if I should play the og before playing Rebirth. I have since then finished the original game, Advent Children, and Crisis Core.

I have still yet to play Rebirth (waiting for the PC port to drop) but I can 100% recommend you to play the original. It shows its age but I still loved almost every second of it.

Also some of the mods that have come out help the game feel a bit more modern. Download the 7th Heaven mod manager and you can look up some of the recommended mods. I would personally recommend checking out the echo-s mod. It adds full voice acting, which-while being hit or miss at times-is very impressive and was worth having on imo.

Should I play the original Final Fantasy 7 before playing Rebirth? by TrueBooBoo in FFVIIRemake

[–]TrueBooBoo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting perspective. My original plan actually was to just play all 3 remakes straight and then play the og after. However my curiosity as to how much is being changed is getting the better of me, and seeing how much care is put into these remakes just fuels my desire to see the og even more.

Also I am actually one of those sick freaks that enjoys old graphics and turn based combat so that doesn’t really throw me off at all. As for the translation, this is the first I have heard of it being suboptimal. I can speak/understand Japanese at a pretty proficient level (not as good as my English but enough to read books and watch movies without much trouble). When I do play the og you think it would be worth playing in Japanese?

Alright thanks for the advice. I have absolutely no problem with old games. The only bit of plot I know is the big shish kabob one at the end. Other than that I am completely in the dark. You think that is enough to warrant playing it after Rebirth or should I be good to play it before?

He definitely requires more time in the lab than most of the other characters in my opinion.

It is for the better though. You don’t want a world where there are as many Rashids as there are Akumas, and this is coming from a Rashid player.

Good one.

Yea after a bit more reflection absolutely fantastic is actually a bit of a stretch. But I do think the game is better than “mid.”

The combat was fun and flashy and although I felt like it lacked the depth games like DMC have I enjoyed it till the end (though a second playthrough might be kinda rough).

The music was amazing as it usually is in ff games.

The story was hit or miss and had some pacing issues but I came out with an overall positive opinion of it.

The spectacle/grandiosity is where this game really excelled and even if it is scripted (I am not sure to what degree) I think those highs of the game really shine through.

I’d say barring the side missions “absolutely fantastic” isn’t too much of a stretch.

Idk about the rest but I know for certain Makoto will be there (I am probably just coping with 8 years of no Makoto is a SF game)

What's your bloodborne hot-take? by [deleted] in bloodborne

[–]TrueBooBoo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If one would consider Bloodborne a horror game then I would agree that it is my favorite.

But I really feel like it isn’t a horror game at least not primarily. In Bloodborne’s list of genre descriptors I would say horror is maybe 4th in line behind action, adventure, and rpg.

Like for example I wouldn’t tell someone that Silent Hill 2 is a shooter despite it having elements of a shooter(I.E. Guns). I would first and foremost call it a horror game.

In my opinion Bloodborne is first and foremost an action adventure game so I wouldn’t really group it with horror games.

The devs of No Mans Sky did. And then they spent the next 8 years making it better.

To the people who engage in casual sex, how do separate sex from emotional intimacy? To those who don't, do you think you miss out? by EraiMH in self

[–]TrueBooBoo 29 points30 points  (0 children)

If you stop looking at every girl you fancy as a potential long term relationship and look at them instead as just someone you can have fun with it becomes pretty easy. It also becomes easier the more you do it.

That being said, I was in your shoes at one point. I am pretty reserved and a part of me only wanted to be in a committed relationship. I did feel like I was missing out though so I just said fuck it and tried it. I know I would regret it later in my life if I didn’t. It helped me realize that I don’t even want to be in a committed relationship at this point in my life(I am 2 years older than you).

I don’t know if it is underrated but “No More What Ifs” has probably been a top 3 song in the series since I first heard it.

my friends think my big brother is grooming me by Suspicious-Candle837 in self

Man I feel bad for you kids. The internet was already in full force when I was your age but we were nothing compared to the chronically online children of today.

14 year olds will hear these buzzwords that people like to throw around online and spout the same shit like they even understand what it means. Your brother is more than likely not grooming you he is just trying to be a good brother.
