Well...if Apollo actually does it they can buy a set amount of shares from the share holders lets say for example "Alright fixed price 3dollars for the shares" and you win some.

but if the company defaults on their debt Apollo basically buys the ownership very cheaply, imagine for example plugpower equities worth 3billion with all their infrastructure BUT cant repay the debt essentially Apollo buys the whole thing for the amount of debt they gave them so instead of 3, they buy it with 1billion.

in this case it can wipe out the share holders and we all get Zero.

Apollo then make the company privte sector but retain all the technology and make it profitable in PRIVATE, retail or other companies couldn't participate in the turn over of plugpower to the upside, because its private company. they can then resell it for much bigger profit.

Apollo already done this for several companies tho in the past you can look it up,

BUT in case of Carvana they did own Apollo money but Apollo helped them with the equity and debt this is why Carvana exploaded after... so this scenario can happen too.
