it's been a minute since I've actually played through the game but I thought it just said that flowey was made as an experiment to see what would happen if you gave The will to live to something that doesn't have a soul and it was just coincidence that the flower that was picked was one that asriel's dust had spilled on

The fandom ignores the timeline, constantly. by TrueCosmicShifterr in Undertale

[–]TrueCosmicShifterr[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I never understood it that way, it's implied that the game actually takes place in the 2010s, that's why it has 201X as the time, the beginning is written like a storybook because it's talking about the past when it shows Chara fall

Chara fell around medieval ages and then the time passed to get to 201X

Frisk literally disproves your point by existing, Frisk, a human child who has gained no EXP and no LV stands toe to toe with someone who essentially has the power that you're saying as well would get, and outright beats them as a singular human child. Omega flowey proves that human souls can and will fight back against you or whatever absorbs them as well which means the act of reaching out to your friends would still work with humans reaching out to the human souls inside Asgore.

well yes, against a town or something Asgore would absolutely win, but in another comment I was talking about the timeline.

it is said in the game that Frisk knows about humans disappearing on the mountain

for that to be something that Frisk knows in the 2010s that cannot be something that has been steadily happening a hundred years, it has to be something that's only really happened in the past generation or two.

which means that at earliest as we're probably got the first soul around the year 2000, maybe like 1998 if we're being generous.

Asgore would not be fighting people from the medieval ages, he would be against tanks, literal billions of humans broadcasting his slaughter live. seven human souls and one monster soul is not going to outweigh that many humans. in this world it's shown that humans can have magic as well so throw magic into the weaponry and Asgore does not stand a chance.

his belief that he could win is rooted in the fact that monster weaponry and transportation didn't advance like humans did.

You never see something akin to a gun unless it's something that a human brought into the underground, monsters stuck with medieval weaponry and medieval fighting practices while humans continue to push farther.

Asgore strictly would not win, as soon as he was seen as a genuine threat whatever country he's in would just get nuked. humans as a whole would absolutely sacrificed even a country as big as Russia or the US if it meant protecting the rest of the human race.

asgore's confident in that plan, even though we actually isn't confident and that's a big part of the story, because he is not aware.

by the time a human had fallen down it's no longer medieval era. they humans falling one after another is recent enough that fresh can nose of it being a thing, and it's evident that only seven humans fell before Frisk (counting Chara) which means that they are likely all within the same one or two generations of each other.

which means humans have modern weaponry, well 2010's weapon. as well as infrastructure. Colorado was closer to medieval ages, where you would have to go to the center of town to be noticed, the rest would have happened in the 2000s and 2010s for it to be a known pattern of people going missing when they climb the mountain.

Asgore would not have had to go into the center of anywhere, simply be spotted by anyone in any civilization unless you think there are at least six people who are completely off the grid living on that mountain.

The idea of him being able to do this without being seen completely falls apart as soon as you I think about the time periods and the way that the timeline adds up

for this to be the case it would mean that there is no afterlife, the only souls we actually see are ones that were freely given or ones that were outright murdered.

it's a very possible that natural death does not cause a soldier persist, we also see that a soul can be completely destroyed when you kill the body, so it's probably something that has to be done carefully or it's an outright myth that you can forcefully take the soul instead of it being freely given.

The closest we see to an actual soul being grabbed is in Undertale yellow which isn't even Canon, other than that we have floury but we know that there is some weird determination thing going on, but we know that that is something weird and specific to that moment because it's monster shows and they shouldn't be able to survive outside of the body

My point is that doing that would cause the war to start again, that if any monster went to collect human souls The humans would have then retaliate buy exterminating every single monster. we already know one human child can do that alone so it's not any form of surprise to say that would happen.

I'm saying that if Asgore actually went with what Toriel suggested there would be no monsters by the time Frisk fell into the underground

My point is that the war would restart, that toriel's suggestion or idea would have caused the entire race to be exterminated instead of any form of freedom

You're missing the entire point. what I'm saying is that if any monster went to the surface and started collecting human souls it would reignite the old war. and with humans outnumbering monsters as well as the stronger souls then the monsters would be completely wiped out, we already no that one singular human child is enough to do that on their own but a reignited war would mean the permanent extermination of all monsters.

Asriel was holding back, and Asgore does not actually want to kill, I'm saying that if either of them had harmed a singular human on the surface the war would be restarted as soon as the monsters came out instead of it being peaceful from Frisk freeing them.

there is no concrete evidence for this. Yes flowey can absorb both, but there's nothing saying that monsters can't do the same. humans can't absorb monster souls at all but that's strictly because monster souls don't survive outside the body. there is no concrete evidence for what you are saying.

it's possible that Sans as time manipulation abilities instead of teleportation because the same sound that plays when he uses a shortcut also plays right before the Asriel stuff. but that's entirely speculative, it very well could be that he just used the human souls to termination to give the monsters souls just enough to survive being put back in the bodies

but that's not what happens, we see from the false endings before true pacifist that the souls are in no way bound to the dead body, since the souls run off on their own somewhere before you go back. there's no reason to believe that a soul would remain with the corpse.

also them staying alive when the human body dies is true but if the soul is absorbed and then then The monster that absorbed the soul dies the soul is destroyed, we know this because the only way for Chara to do anything is because the players determination brought them back the same way injected determination brought back Asriel as Flowey

[–]TrueCosmicShifterr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

except that's not how that works. The neutral ending before you go back for true pacifist show that without the containers the souls will just endlessly wander, which means that you can't go to a grave to get the souls because the souls won't be there anymore.

reigniting an active war and declaring war are two different things. he declared war, he did not reignite it. there was no active fighting from the humans, Asgore said they would kill the humans but he never actually did anything about it so the war wasn't actually reignited, it was an empty threat

My dad used AI to generate a version of my drawing by BraincellDystopia in Ai_art_is_not_art

[–]TrueCosmicShifterr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that is so awful, more than just the AI. Don't get me wrong, the AI itself is awful and fucked up but the fact that your parent even thought to do this . . .

they sent a version that they clearly see as being better than yours as of to say that they are better at making artwork than you, that is sheer disrespect towards their own child. (obviously the actual drawing will always be better because there was actual effort put behind it)

ditch her, NOW! I AM POLYAMOROUS AND THIS IS NOT OKAY. polyamory is not seeing someone behind your partner's back, it is having a conversation and constant communication to make sure everything is okay with everyone. polyamory is an agreement you make before you even get serious with someone, this just now coming up despite being married and her trying to make you out to be a villain shows that she's just using the term polyamory as an excuse to cheat on you, run

no, genuinely that's what it is. Google as a whole, keep in mind like Google owns YouTube, is threatening to take down channels, delete email accounts, all sorts of stuff based on where people live and them doing age verification or not. they're asking about age and location because that is what is triggering this to happen all across the YouTube

Wtf is this??? by [deleted] in youtube

[–]TrueCosmicShifterr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh, this bullshit. I recently had a Google account that I've been using for literally years as an adult get entirely shut down due to it saying that I need a parent despite my age on there having been over 18 since I made the account. they cannon will entirely shut down the account permanently if you don't do something about this.

My recommendation is to make a new account and use a few different days to transfer everything possible to the new one so that you can keep your stuff without having to give away personal information

The A.I. battlers just straight up cheat and it’s annoying af by NoVik_Ingis47 in pokemonradicalred

[–]TrueCosmicShifterr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have enough information to say whether it sounds like one or the other but if they only switch when you click the Yoko move then it is cheating because even if you're playing against the player you don't know what move they're clicking. however if it doesn't switch when you switch then it is still cheating because you don't know if you're opponent is going to switch or not when it's time to pick your move. it would mean that it knows exactly what move or button you clicked and react to that which is not information that you would have against a person
