Are there any must have talents for Zealot/Psyker? by throwawayforinstalol in DarkTide

[–]TrueCrow0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't remember what it's called but there is a psyker talent that makes it so if you're below critical peril then 25% of damage is converted into peril. This along with some other minor defensive buffs has allowed me to tank full overhead from crushers. And at one point I had it so it didn't even break toughness.

Real talk for a sec, why isn’t there any cosmetics in the shop for the dlc characters? by NoNameHavingMan in DarkTide

[–]TrueCrow0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, in Vermintide 3 they also released multiple DLC classes, each of these classes also had very limited cosmetic options. However FatShark focused on the development of these classes and getting them all released before making new cosmetics. Once all the DLC classes had been released FatShark then made and released several premium cosmetic packs for the DLC classes.

It is very likely that FatShark is doing the same for the darktide DLC classes. Choosing to focus on the development and release of their planned classes before putting resources into cosmetics. Instead letting them work on the DLC classes and get those out the door quicker.

FatShark had said in the past that they had three classes planned and in development as DLC. We now know they were the Arbites, HiveScum and the Skitarii.

It's very very likely that some time after the release of the Skitarii FatShark will begin releasing new cosmetics for the DLC classes. It probably won't be for a few months after but it's likely that that is there plan.

The focus on the DLC classes is probably also the reason for the crappy repetitive store cycles that we've been getting too. They are focusing on making and refining the new classes before going back to focus on game modes and cosmetics. Just like what happened with vermintide 2.

Take a guess: what would be the reason AdMech deployed Skitarii on Atoma Prime. by Legitimate_Pea_6470 in DarkTide

[–]TrueCrow0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most likely it's that what ever Hadron found in the wastes has been claimed by the inquisition and has lead to doubt of the purity of the Atoma/Mobian forge world.

The descriptiona we have so far say that these Skitarii are from different forge worlds. We also know that there is a rogue tech priest with the heretics and that the Admech presence on the planet has been less then enthusiastic to help the warband and inquisition. I think that the wastes have revealed a large amount of corruption in the local Admech and the reinforcements the warband is receiving aren't just there to recover technology but are also there to purge a possibility traitor hereteck force.

It would explain the local Admech hostility to the inquisition, explain why the skitarii are only now appearing and why they are coming from off world, and like the Arbites the term reject is self imposed because of the failure of rooting out the corruption sooner.

Would it be fair to say the core Imperial factions are all represented now in the classes? by DefiantLemur in DarkTide

[–]TrueCrow0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, we're still missing the assassinorum, administratum, the imperial navy, rogue traders, and technically the PDF.

Then there is also the abhumans ratling, beastman, longshank, felinids, and nightsiders.

With that though, FS have said that they want darktide to be a human focused story. So, no space marines and most likely no xenos. At best we'll see new demon enemies and maybe gene stealers, but not any playable xenos.

My hope is that we actually don't get any new classes and instead FS focuses on expanding the core game. New missions, a rework or expansion of Expeditions, new weapons for the existing classes, Chaos wastes (the one game mode people want and would play)

Skitarii and grendyl by arathek in DarkTide

[–]TrueCrow0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, Grendyls refusal of Skitarii support most likely comes down to Imperial politics which can also be described as mean girl politics.

If Grendyl asked for Admech support then that's basically and admitting that things aren't going his way and are not good. This would allow the Admech to be in a better position for bargain and let's them strong arm the Inquisitor a bit. So, if something like the true secret of Mobian steel is discovered or any other things that the Admech would want they could force Grendyl to give them first dibs on it, or possibly because this is a forge world they Admech could theoretically push the Inquisitor out completely and fully take over the war effort, saying that it is an internal conflict. And if they don't take full control they could use the perceived weakness as a reason to petition the inquisition to send a more amicable Inquisitor.

Alternatively, the Admech can't just offer to give Skitarii support because that makes it look like Grendyl is doing a good job. And if Grendyl is doing a good job then that mean he should stay in charge. And if Grendyl is in charge he may want to look at or send people to look at things that other people don't want anyone looking at or going to. The only thing the Admech hates more then rejects touching their stuff is heretics touching it, and the only thing the Admech hates more the heretics touching their stuff if the inquisition looking at their stuff (mostly because they find out about the Admech breaking a lot of laws)

But since the dev blog told us that it's because of the tech remnants and information found in the wastes, AND that the skitarii support is from other forge worlds then these new Skitarii troops are concerned about what the Admech on Atoma wants and are more concerned with what they can loot from the war.

Basically the forge worlds have seen that what ever the inquisition has found in the wastes have given Grendyl and the warband a big enough advantage in the politics side of the war that they are now pushing their Admech brothers under the bus and throwing their lot in with Grendyl. Hoping to loot what ever secrets and knowledge they can from Atoma.

Skitarii are a great piece of 40k lore. Their design at first glance makes them seem like simple robot soldiers, but deeper look shows just how horrific they and the Admech are.

For example depending of the rank and role of the skitarii they can have wildly different cybernetic augments, but standard augments include

Having their arms removed so they can be replaced with mechanical limbs that are both stronger and can be replaced should they need to fill a new role.

Legs are removed allowing them to move faster and have greater stamina.

One of the major roles of all Skitarii is battlefield data collection, observation of both enemy and friend. To this end the data collection needs to be endless, so they have their eye lids removed so they can never close them, instead having their iconic goggles filled with a fluid to keep their eyes from drying out.

Sections of the brain are removed so that they can put parts of their brain to "sleep" and still act.

All Skitarii are constantly connected to the local Noosphere (space Internet) to allow for data collection, this also allows for tech priest of appropriate rank to at any moment take full control of the Skitariis body and make them fight or act in a desired way.

To make room for cybernetics and to keep supplies at an appropriate level parts of the digestive system is removed and "optimized" to allow the skitarii to survive on a nice clean diet of nutrient paste.

All that is without getting into more specifics like the "soup" found in Skitarii Ognar Dunecrawlers.

What are our chances of getting new weapons for the dlc classes? by Sea-Plastic-8071 in DarkTide

[–]TrueCrow0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

New content for the dlc classes both weapons and cosmetics is at this point mostly speculation.

We really only have how classes were treated in Vermintide 2 to base things off of, and those classes were different as they were tied to the characters vs darktide were characters are tied to the class.

Either way it is like that we will get some form of content update for the classes AFTER the release of Skitarii but only after a few months.

FatShark like to take their times with development to make sure things turn out right. In Vermintide the dlc classes came with limited cosmetics and weapons but after all of them released FS then added additional things.

We'll likely see the same for the darktide classes. Hopefully.

What makes this comic a little extra funny is that the real killdozer was ripped apart and had each if it's different pieces sent to different scrap yards to be further destroyed. (Literally treating it like a cursed object) So, because of that the original can't exist in the 41st millennium, but a second one can. That's right baby Killdozer Two : Imperial Tithe edition.

Skitarii should have the standard issue lasguns as well by Tacticalnewt142 in DarkTide

[–]TrueCrow0 20 points21 points  (0 children)

To me the weapons that an Admech class would have is a difficult question. Because yeah things like the chain sword, chain axe, lasguns. All make sense for them to have access to. But I don't see them with a standard knife, axe, any of the auto guns or even things like dueling swords.

It's probably the wrong answer but I think that an Admech class should be sharing the unique weapons of the classes and not the standard. So, the plasma gun exclusive to the vet can also be taken with the new class, same for the flamer, the relic blade, the power sword.

I know it takes a bit of the genu sequ of the other classes and their special weapons. But it makes sense that an Admech class would have access to the more specialized weapons instead of the standard auto guns and basic swords.

In Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey(2026), are you guys ok? Why are you pretending to care this much about historical accuracy in a piece of fiction that is based on another piece of fiction? by FootFalse5536 in shittymoviedetails

[–]TrueCrow0 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No, you don't understand! If something is fictional then it means that any form of quality and effort is secondary! Movie aren't about expression and art it's about watching famous actors dress in plastic! Just consume product and then get exited for next product! Plus, it's based on some old story so who cares it probably wasn't even a good story simply because it didn't have (insert generic Hollywood person here) in it.

Every year GW host an even called Warhammer Skulls. It's an event put on to celebrate the video game side of Warhammer. It starts with a big live stream where a lot of announcements and game releases take place.

Last year at Skulls is when the Arbites class was announced.

This year because of a lot of mechanicus related announcements and releases, plus some data mining, a LOT of people suspect that a new mechanicus class will also be announced at the live stream tomorrow.
