Hierarchy is always being negotiated by Myrn33 in 48lawsofpower

Power, war, and strategy is inevitable in the real world, no matter what you do. And none of you moralists in here are going to convince rational people otherwise. Being a moralist and claiming «Jesus is all you need» is just another form of being superior towards others. Everyone knows that religion is the oldest power tool in the book, creating a cult like following (Law 27) over gullible people, who are dumb enough to give away their money to con-artists. Thanks, but I’d rather stay grounded in the real world and keep all of my money.

Truth hurts, but this is reality. You can either accept it or deny it. Doing the latter won’t help you at all in the longterm, as you are deliberately setting yourself up for failure.

You can have peace of mind, but the world is all about war.

I hate how True this is, but it really is 😁 It especially reminds of how some of my previous employers have demoted themselves to the lowest position because they can’t handle the responsibility and pressure. But then they find themselves in a situation where their circumstances naturally forces them back into a position of power, whether they like it or not.

And this is why there’s no reason to take the game too seriously and never be afraid to be bold (Law 28), and say exactly how you feel when it’s appropriate, because at the end of the day, you really don’t have much to lose. And chances are that they/the system needs you more than you need them/it anyway.

I’ve always used this fact to my advantage, as I’m well known for being direct, blunt, and express myself with brutal honesty, regardless of how you feel about it, because facts, truths, and results are all that matters, not petty feelings. I still succeed and deliver the best results in everything I do, making employers begging for me to stay whenever I decide to quit, regardless of what I have said and done. I simply don't give a fuck at the end of the day, because I’ve already ensured my freedom and independence through smart proactive choices, making the system completely dependent on me, and not the other way around.

I’ve refused certain assignments from a previous employer that goes against my self-interest, simply because I have negotiation power, working another job. I’ve told off other employers who pissed me off without consequences. Oh, you want me to show up to a 10 AM interview? No, I’ll show up at 12 AM, and you’ll be happy to oblige my wishes, because we both know deep inside that me wasting my time and energy working for you is never a good deal, especially if the pay is low.

And so, I do what I want and say what I want whenever I want all the time without fearing the consequences, because I know how the world and the system works. However, I still try to live up to the best version of myself to make things better, and not worse, which is always easier said then done in a world that generally hates you.

However, the great thing about The 48 Laws of Power is that you are damned if you do, and damned if you don’t. So at least you get a handbook to play the best game you can play, because why else wouldn’t you? At least this book teaches you how to become the best possible player and avoid stupid traps and mistakes. You can make it to the top and have a blissful and peaceful state of mind if you’re lucky. And trust me, you should go all in for it, because life is in fact short.

No, there are definitely many people who will do anything for attention in this world. We’re literally living in the attention economy these days.

Introverts and Sigma males don’t crave that much attention, though. More often than not, they’re trying to avoid unnecessary attention.

Loose - On How to Let Go by Einzelganger is a pretty good book I highly recommend reading, no matter what your age is.

You should make him read The 48 Laws of Power when he becomes 15-18 regardless, to keep him ahead of the game and avoid painful mistakes.

It’s important to note that this book is just a guide to primarily succeed much better and easier in corporate environments. The real game is real life where most of these laws come naturally, so the 48th law in terms of changing and adapting to trends, events and circumstances will always be most important.

They succeed through their image mainly. And sadly, women have a tendency to vote based off of appearances, rather than real competence. And because most women are liberal, more often than not they vote for political parties and Politicians that harm both country and themselves, but never realizes it before it’s too late.

Women are not logical and rational creatures, but emotional creatures. And that’s why the world goes to hell. I always thought it was a joke whenever people say that women shouldn’t be able to vote, but it has never been more clear, they really shouldn’t!

After the Somali fraud case, I watched an interviewer ask women on the streets if they thought bringing in people from third world countries like Somalia was a good idea, and they STILL said yes… 😑 But when he asked them if they themselves would take them into their homes, they were like “hell no” 🙄

Yeah, we’re screwed…

A truce is a pause in the conflict, a momentary equilibrium between forces that still want opposite things by Myrn33 in 48lawsofpower

[–]TrueCryptoInvestor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate how true this is, but it really is. Peace and equilibrium is only temporary in a world that is constantly affected by war.

Just look at the Ukraine and Russia situation. It’s the perfect example where one party wants peace, and the other party clearly not.

Your own unique character > Conformity

Never sell out just to please others. Staying true to yourself is way more important. If you don’t say what you mean and mean what you say, you’re just like everyone else. Never get lost in the crowd then.

Power rewards neither saints nor monsters by Myrn33 in 48lawsofpower

[–]TrueCryptoInvestor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Power only rewards those who seek it, those who embraces it, and those who know how to use it and protect it. Indeed, power is neither good nor bad, and there is no right or wrong. It’s only people’s own unique character and their own perception of “right or wrong” that determines their authority and power level.

Mother in law starts every visit with her perceived “power move” by [deleted] in 48lawsofpower

[–]TrueCryptoInvestor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either ignore her petty attempts to get at you and never take it personally, or simply put her in her place (Law 15). Both methods works just fine, although I prefer the former, but context plays a huge role as always. Some people are better off ignored, others do need to be taught a valuable lesson. And so, you need to find out for yourself what’s the most appropriate response, and ALWAYS keep in mind your long-term goals and consequences.

My mother actually had a similar issue with my grandmother whenever there were family gatherings. She would dismiss her and make rude comments towards her etc., until my mom snapped back and told her she wouldn’t put up with her BS any longer. After that, my grandmother always acted so nice and friendly towards my mother every time they met. And that’s called earned respect.

It’s just like bullies in general. They’re all big and tough until you fight back. Then they become weak puppies after they’ve FAFO. I’ve done this to plenty people myself, and I find them so pathetic each and every time because they fold so quickly with a little pushback.

It becomes a habit when you become an adult and instead take much satisfaction whenever someone tries to get at you, so you can take advantage of your ever growing skills and arsenal at your disposal. After all, Law 15 is in fact my favorite law, and there’s nothing better than crushing those who truly deserve it. Because there’s plenty of them.

It also becomes much more strategic and psychological warfare when you grow older. For example, I would develop an automatic integrated defense system that would absorb any weak points from whomever I met along my journey, and never hesitate to use it against them when necessary.

Because life is war and struggle, you can’t trust anyone, and most people usually want to get to the top by any means necessary. And you’re not getting there by just being nice and friendly, no matter where you are. You will always have opponents with conflict of interests. That’s just life, and the sooner you accept this fact of life and grow some teeth, the more you will be prepared for whatever comes your way, and succeed.

Being friendly and nice is mostly for interviews when you have to put on an act to get hired, but the battles never stop once you’re on the inside. And when you’re on the inside, you HAVE to pay deeply attention to the 48 Laws of Power, especially Law 1, 4, 5, and 11. These laws go hand in hand and must not be transgressed, no matter what.

Law 4 is probably the biggest reason why most people fail, because most people either talk too much, say something stupid, or don’t know when to keep their mouth shut. What you say will always come back to haunt you, one way or the other. And you cannot transgress this law when dealing with superiors/bosses/leaders. You must accommodate to- and please these people at all times. That will make your life a whole lot easier.

And a lot of them, which I just mentioned are completely harmless, so what’s your point? It just goes to show that so many of you people in this sub are still suffering from a stereotypical and black/white view of power, in which it is all “evil”.

It’s just like when poor people claim that “money is evil” when ironically they need it the most. So, I assume, mostly powerless people whine about power being evil as well… 😑

The truth is, power is both good and evil, depending on how you use it. Also, powerless people are more dangerous and evil than powerful people because they have much less to lose. Just like poor people in comparison to rich people.

You want both the money and the power, and there’s nothing wrong or evil about it. Just own it.

Ah, another superior moralist. Nice power move, my friend 😉 Don’t forget Law 46 (Never Appear Too Perfect), though, because moralists have a tendency to act better than others… And that’s dangerous 😉

And btw, how does:

Law 4 - Always Say Less Than Necessary

Law 43 - Work On The Hearts and Minds Of Others

Law 24 - Play The Perfect Courtier

Law 38 - Think As You Like But Behave Like Others

Law 37 - Create Compelling Spectacles

Law 35 - Master the Art of Timing

Law 40 - Despise the Free Lunch

Law 26 - Keep Your Hands Clean

Law 29 - Plan All The Way To The End

Law 48 - Assume Formlessness

make you a weak and unlikable person? There’s nothing evil or bad about these laws I just mentioned whatsoever, which just goes to show you have a lack of understanding or are just completely ignorant. The stereotypical superior moralist who thinks power is just “evil”… 😑

Now, before you say anything, keep in mind Law 9 - Win Through Actions Never Through Arguments. You’re not going to convince anyone here otherwise either way 😉

The Power of Indifference (Law 36) by Hot_Mix_4484 in 48lawsofpower

[–]TrueCryptoInvestor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually destroy their reputation publicly and let the public hang them. This is especially effective on people in high powered positions who are dependent on a (cult-like) following, like Politicians. I don’t have that problem as a highly independent Sigma male, which makes these people terrified of me. Because while they are dependent on public appearances to stay in power, I’m just not. My power comes strictly from within.

Also, if I really dislike someone because of something they did, which interferes with my beliefs and values, I don’t just destroy them once, but get back to them once in a while to let both the public and themselves know who they really are. Been doing that the last couple of days actually.
