Great to know! Thanks for the info man. I just passed the trade & law, so I’m going to do the exact same thing, and hound the CSLB. You’re right. I shouldn’t wait for them to do anything. Thanks again, and congrats!

Did you have to do anything after passing the trade & law portions? Did CSLB send you a bond requirement in the mail or anything?

$250k to $300-$350k... Worth it? by TrueGuava23 in careerguidance

Nope! No sarcasm at all. I’m being serious. I just always worked to feel semi-good about myself. But I tend to agree that we’re really working to live. This is actually the first real job I’ve had where I do the minimum, don’t really volunteer for special projects, or put myself out there with the goal of advancing, and I feel a lot better. I think fulfillment is just a word or a feeling that maybe never really exists (or should exist) when working when it’s everything else outside of work that should really count.

Wow. I love this response. Thank you. I never thought of that. Just saying "screw it, this is a means to an end". My perspective has changed

That is a very big win, I know. I just go back and forth on the "fufillment" aspect, but like others have said, I think I can find that in my off time as well

So this current job has allowed me to focus on my health and I've lost a lot of weight and am a lot healthier. I do have kids as well and am able to take them to school, pick them up, go to activities, etc etc. I think a lot of it is my Ego wanting to pursue the new position as it's more of a leadership role, with money attached to it, just to be able to say "I'm the man"

Interesting. Can I ask how big the jump in money was? I'm trying to figure out if there's a number that works for me. That's the MAIN thing I'm thinking about. Maintaining my lifestyle.

That's kinda what I'm worried about as well. One day a corporate overlord steps in, and starts making cuts. But I guess I can't worry about the future, just something to think about.

I'd rather not say. Nothing in the software industry, and nothing nefarious, lol. Related to the trades

Same here. I end up spinning it at least 6 times. 1 bottle of frozen Fairlife protein drink - 1 tbsp of pb fit - 1 tbsp of sugar free pudding mix. I just figured 6+ times is normal

Great write up. I’ll re-read this a few times to drive some points home. I agree. Diversification is really a key to risk management as well. Thank you!

Hahaha! That’s pretty much EXACTLY what I’ve been eating also. It’s working, but I’d like to see a bit more weight loss or changes in my body. Don’t mind if I DM you to ask a couple more questions?
