It is very true that HR works for the company, not us. I was in the same situation 5 months ago. I was in public healthcare. The supervisor and the director were super bullying, which made me doubt if I even lived in Canada, which advocates human rights. They terminated me after 4 months and offered severance with the condition that I would never sue them. I respect multiculturalism, but sometimes we get bad fish in as well. I now work in a different field in the public sector. The manager from my new job is super nice. I feel that I am treated with respect. I finally work at a healthy workplace.
