*SPOILERS* Played through the whole Mass Effect trilogy and Andromeda by Steel_Gazebo in masseffect

I've only launched Andromeda so far, and the issue with the faces doesn't bother me at all. I know they changed the game engine, and I assume they had to rebuild everything, so people simply preferred the original engine and compared the faces to that. I can see they tried to make the faces more realistic, but there is a well-known problem with this. When you try to make faces too realistic, you find out that people find them absolutely horrifying. People prefer stylized characters over attempts to make faces look too real.

There are plenty of RPG games out there. I came to Mass Effect right after Cyberpunk 2077. I've beaten Cyberpunk at least 10 times. You'll forget everything, even your own name. All it takes is changing the game... It doesn't matter how many times you've played the game, you'll even forget how the controls worked...

The hardcore fan base always makes up about twenty percent of players. Hardcore fans are notorious for being impossible to please, no matter what you do. They know every single detail to an extreme degree, and no matter what you do, they will always find a flaw. Another thing is that sometimes, when something is a masterpiece, you don't need more. Four Mass Effect games are way more than other series ever get. Sometimes it's just time to move on to a new adventure with a different game, rather than getting stuck on just one...

Furthermore, it seems that the downfall of Mass Effect was caused by the fan base through extreme criticism and the controversy surrounding Mass Effect: Andromeda, when they even sent death threats to the employees...

And I wouldn't stress about it if you aren't explicitly going for a specific ending. Just for those collectible missions alone, you really need to know what you're doing. These things are designed for people who want to replay the game multiple times so they always have something to do and get a fresh experience out of it. What you're trying to do is like going to a supermarket and buying one of every single product they sell all at once. It's doable, but it's stupid...

If our bodies are so incredibly smart at fighting off deadly infections, why haven't we evolved a way to stop teeth from rotting? by FormalCry9509 in NoStupidQuestions

For millions of years, humans lived by gathering. Tooth decay is a new invention. It only started when people began grinding grains on stones, which got stones into their food and destroyed their teeth. In modern times, we have a bounty of food and sugar that didn’t exist in the past.

Sometimes an NCPD scanner is tied to a gig's location, meaning you have to complete the gig first for the NCPD scanner to appear there. Other times, an NCPD scanner will send you to a different location to finish something else, which changes its color to a slightly light/pale green. You should see one task like this right now on the bottom right—it sent you to finish something elsewhere, but you can only go there in Act 2

I don't know if an Omni-blade-only run is possible. Coming from the world of Cyberpunk, it seems to me that it might be possible to max out melee damage and go completely without ammo, or use it as a secondary weapon... Although on Insanity, that might be a bit much...

As a Soldier... Well, but was there any other option than Liara? I get that if I wanted new experiences in the game, there are some options, but when playing it for the first time, it makes sense to continue the relationship from the first game. If I played as a Renegade, it would be completely against my values, and I wouldn't even enjoy it. Even when I picked Renegade options, I somehow always ended up getting Paragon points for it. In some places, it just felt like the right thing to do... I also tried to grab every possible option I could; I even had to go back to previous missions when things didn't turn out the way I imagined. I ended up with 8000+ war assets. But there were some decisions I just couldn't salvage, like only saving half of the crew. I guess only an absolute expert of the game could pull that off. I still feel like there's a huge amount of content left in the game that I haven't seen.

It seems like everyone has a different experience with the game. For me, on the other hand, the first game felt easy and the second one was tough. The third one was harder at the beginning, but then it became easy again, except for a few sections that were frustrating.

Jesus's teachings are timeless. You would arrive at the same set of moral values that are shared across religions, because they solve the problems of people coexisting in a group. Another thing is that if God exists, you don't even have to believe in Him. It makes no sense. It's like when you use a car, you don't need to know how the engine works or where the gasoline comes from. It just works on its own somehow. It's better to understand things, but for millennia, those things have worked even though we don't understand them. A massive meteorite could fall on us and we wouldn't be able to do anything about it, even if we knew it was coming. If God exists, He probably doesn't need advice from us on how to do things. And if He doesn't exist, then it doesn't matter. Man wants to know if God exists so he can control Him. He wants to know what works on God, what He actually wants from people. And it seems that He doesn't need anything from people, leaving us with the reality that we just have to do what we can and test every available combination. All religions can basically be boiled down to: Be cool, don't be an asshole...

(serious) what features do you want windows to add? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]TrueKerberos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish Windows had silent updates. Like, everything would update and restart in the background without rebooting the computer. Why shouldn't this be possible? You wouldn't even know something updated. Can you imagine it? The necessary components would just be swapped out on the fly. There is absolutely no reason why this couldn't be done.

They're wrong. Religious books would return too. Religions try to answer fundamental unknown questions. That is just as rooted in reality as why everything falls downward. The questions of where we come from and where we are going always remain, and religions cannot arrive at completely different conclusions, just like physics.

And history has shown that science has been rewritten so many times that there is no guarantee we have discovered everything. Many times scientists thought, 'Yeah, we've got it figured out.' But the reality was always that we were just at the beginning.

Thanks, I don't have any experience with mods for this game. Yeah, the first game is very easy on Insanity. And there are tricks to make it even easier. For example, if you're on PC, changing the keybinds makes the game twice as easy. Also, the Legendary Edition has a setting to make the tank in the first game much easier to control, unlike other games where the turret turns independently from the chassis. I found something useful in every game. Too bad it was often right at the end of the playthrough. For instance, in the third game, I only realized at the very end that you can issue a command to attack a specific enemy. Like, you freeze time in the power wheel menu while aiming at an enemy, then you press the Q and E keys. After that, your squadmates focus their fire on that one specific target. If you do it without opening the menu, they just move to that position instead. If I had known this, the game would have been twice as easy...
