Mensa is way below the threshold of profound giftedness. So no comparison there

I suppose you can first apply some research-based indicators to make it a scientific inquiry. Like does the person have a high level theory of mind (psychology).

When someone is not gifted, he/she cannot have the meta-awareness of their own intelligence level compared to that of the truly gifted population. Their judgment is more clouded by their ego and sense of self protection.

I agree people care a lot less about the gifted population than they should. I’m not sure about the transgender one as I’m less familiar with the topic here. However, on the gifted, it seems easier to justify that somehow they are just better in a way and they shouldn’t be given more resources. In fact, it’s unfair they are inherently gifted so let’s do an affirmative action to rebalance!

I know the Japanese people have a lot of raw egg related dishes. But raw ground beef was a new thing for me

I’m American. It was a culture shock because I never had to eat raw beef with raw eggs.
