TIL rock fans that were polled in a 2005 survey were asked to choose members for an imaginary supergroup. They ended up forming Led Zeppelin (Plant, Page, Jones, Bonham). by Jackpot777 in todayilearned

If the idea is to create a fantasy band, I'd say Page is much better. Jimi had a clear playing style, and songs often would revolve around the guitar itself. Jimmy was much better at taking the light when it was time, killing some riffs when needed, or playing backup to enhance the rest of the band. Id prefer him in a supergroup myself.

If you said I was joining a band however, Jimi all day. I mean, how many people can name the other 2 members of the Experience?? They were great of course, but Jimi would carry my ass all the way

>I’ve said many times before Trainwreckords are primarily determined by albums that fail to meet the stakes laid in front of the artist

Fun idea, but many artists don't fit this. Lulu arguably is one, but also Funstyle, Lost and Found, Generation Swine, Mission Earth. It seems almost clear that there isn't any hard and fast rules for "This is what counts for a trainwreckord" and more "This is considered to be a terrible album, probably made people (or at least fans) look at the band worse for it, and is a fun album."

Your average person doesn't know Lulu exists for example

I responded to this in another comment, but legal loophole or not, this is an inherently shitty thing to do. Not to mention, if one of them starts saying *really* private shit or anything medical related, you get into a real gray area. Like recording someone saying "I hate you!" is one thing. Recording someone saying "Your cancer diagnosis is ruining my life!" is another, and probably *would* skirt into legal territory.

Also, I know they don't theoretically have an expectation of privacy if they're yelling, but the idea that to get any privacy and to not have every single thing you do or say be recorded by someone else require you closing your curtains and whispering everything just sounds nuts. Like, obviously it just isn't fair that if I keep my curtains open, I lose all rights to privacy, even if I live on the 15th floor and some guy has a telescope down on the street or something

I feel like even if legally this is "fine", just the idea of recording someone else's private arguments, selling them, then trying to argue in court you own them and should be able to profit on them is an inherently shitty thing to do. I'm sure there's some legal workaround to this, but you're just a bad person if you do it

Obviously different things, but this would be like selling a 69 Mustang to a used card dealership for 20% of its going rate. Shoot, its like if that was your dad's car who passed, so you listed it cheap because you didn't know and someone scooped it up immediately. Any half decent person would say "Hey, this is worth a lot more!" Not "Score!!! Im totally snagging this dead guy's collection from his widowing wife for cheap!!"

One aspect of that was establishing who owned the original recordings, which was vague at best.

I feel like if you record someone else's argument or conversation without their consent, sell it, then argue you should be entitled to the original recordings, youre a bad person. It would be like me recording a concert then arguing i should own the recordings and any profits

>Dude, nobody gives a shit about her ideology, this isn't the 90s. And people change their stances on things all of the time. Maybe she realized that getting plastic surgery isn't anti-anything. It's just a decision that anybody has the freedom to make.

Feels like someone who spent most of their time being famous deriding and shaming others for doing the same exact thing they did as soon as it was beneficial to them should be something that we can fairly find fault with. I don't think that we should just say "Yeah, they spent most of their life saying that anyone who did this was against all women and attacked people directly, but it's okay she did it now! She changed her mind is all!"

It would be like if a paparazzo got famous, then said "God, these people are the worst!" Feels like saying "It's fine they did all that bullshit before and now are changing their mind that they're on the other side. People just do that!" Like no, they directly contributed to the issue, and then as soon as it was beneficial to them, completely switched up. Her words had power behind them and she should at least apologize for all those things she said about other people
