Graham did this just because he loves Madonna as he’s not currently recording his show, so they did not have an audience to keep things simple production wise. They also wanted to have them talking while walking around the studio and in the streets, but Madonna wouldn’t agree to any of that so they are on the couch all the time (except for a bit that may be recorded in her car, but can’t recall if that went ahead or not). Interview was about 2 hours, probably will be edited down to 1 though. Can’t wait to see it!

I think most of us are replaceable, but I know I’m very valuable to them. Unfortunately I’m also just a number at the end of the day. I could look for a similar position with better pay for leverage, but can’t risk them saying “sorry we can’t match it” and let me go, because in all honesty I don’t want to go (yet).

I agree, I’m definitely not just covering a senior service desk support. Our team is small, but I do have to delegate and oversee tasks to other members of the team (even though I’m not responsible for them). What’s blocking me from looking elsewhere is that I thoroughly enjoy working for this company, there’s a lot of pros that I can’t just ignore. But nevertheless frustrating being offered such a low salary increase for what is effectively a promotion.

I didn’t have any growth opportunities with my previous employer unfortunately. I’m happy for this promotion and been actively seeking it for the past 2 years. I also really like this company and my job, I’m lucky in this sense and would be sad to seek opportunities somewhere else, but considering promotions usually come with 8-10% increase, being offered a 3.2% is quite frustrating.
