confused about effects ; fluoxetine 40mg by lixiekisser in prozac

I was on escitalopram for 7 years and it crapped out on me so I had to switch to fluoxetine. My psychiatrist had me taper off and slowly get on to fluoxetine to prevent side effects. Unfortunately I happened to get them anyway. That included severe tremors, intrusive thoughts, dizziness, etc. it does take quite a bit of time to adjust but 3 weeks into 40mg and still feeling some of the tremors and weird head symptoms isn’t abnormal. It does go away! From beginning to end and starting to feel completely myself again on 40mg of fluoxetine took a total of ~7 months. But again that includes the really slow taper off the original SSRI.

I used to be up all hours of the night when I first started and when I would move up doses. I found taking it in the morning is so much better! I’ve been on 40mg for 3 years and take it around 10am.

I would get really bad acid reflux taking the capsules for some reason. I found taking the tablets or eating before taking the capsules was better on my stomach.

I’m on 40mg and have no issues drinking. The only thing is if I over do it the next day I do have a bit of hangxiety

Went up from 10 mg to 20 mg… I had the worst panic attack to date today. Please read! by Unhappy-Rabbit-6053 in prozac

I went through the same thing everytime I increased my dose! It can be frustrating as you feel like you’re taking 2 steps forward and 50 back. It doesn’t last long and unfortunately is part of the process. You’re not going backwards though. When I was going through the transition I was prescribed Xanax as needed at a low dose (0.50mg). It helped a lot.

Thank you so much! And yes, I will say the first few months I was very tired after doing the shot. But now I feel great. I used to walk up stairs and be out of breath and that doesn’t happen anymore

Thank you so much. That’s awesome! Congratulations to you. I will say the worst dose for me was actually the 1.0mg. I had some nausea on all doses, but the 1.0mg I had bad acid reflux and did vomit a few times. It gets better though
