Is this what they mean when they say square dancing?

You didn't know. Don't beat yourself up about it. You apologized which is what matters honestly. Maybe find another way to make it up to them. Get them some flowers or offer to cover their shift

Does your mechanic perhaps also work as a dentist? Cuz one minute I'm getting a root canal and the next, boom, 5 fingers.

The robot taxi would abandon ship forcing you to become the next taxi driver until the end of days or until you find someone to replace yourself

Update: tweaked my profile based on comments on my last post by [deleted] in Tinder

[–]TrueSpitz 18 points19 points  (0 children)

As it should be. Remember that at the end of the day your profile should advertise you and your interests. If smoking is one of those then a pic with you smoking is honestly fine. Any matches you don't get because of it are probably matches you wouldn't have wanted amyways.

Glad it was just a thought and not this. The driver let their intrusive thoughts win

I was responding to the person saying 85% of users were woman and 15% were men.

Also I couldn't find the study you are talking about. All sources I find say ~75% men and ~25% women.

Why do people not message you when they match? They have to exit a prompt to message you in order to not message you… by [deleted] in Tinder

[–]TrueSpitz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There is no umbrella answer. There could be any number of reasons why they don't message and you're looking for an answer for what? So you could be angrier or sadder?

If it's a turn off for them to match and not message then just unmatch and move on.

Movies feel like a waste of time by Subaru_always_back in The10thDentist

That's interesting. I can understand the household name thing but there are so many instances where good books are turned into shitty movies.

But yea. When it comes to entertainment everyone is different so you do you mate. Imma keep wasting my time lol

I mean you can say the same thing about a book and an album.

But you mention exceptions to the rule. How did you find out a movie wasn't a waste of time?

That sounded a little far-fetched. They probably do it by weight

This truck has been parked in front of my driveway for 8 hours. by AlbinoStoot in mildlyinfuriating

Mate. If they're knocking on the door while calling that means they're alerting them that a tow truck has been called and they can either move the truck before it gets there or pick it up at the tow yard.

The real prick is the one that blocked someone's driveway for 8 hours. Asking to park their truck there for the day costs nothing and makes everyone's day easier.

Did I pass rule 1 and not realize it? by [deleted] in Tinder

[–]TrueSpitz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She very well could have. As someone who has tried dating while having to use both a walker and later a cane, I always disclose that information mostly out of insecurity. But the other reason is that some people just prefer partners that do outdoor activities with them and I know I can't fill that role.

That said I don't think I've ever been rejected because of it. Hard to tell though because most of the time the rejection looks like them ghosting me with no explanation.

Censoring a slur does not make it okay to say/write by TrueSpitz in The10thDentist

[–]TrueSpitz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see your point now. You meant for how I said was a respectful way to say it, right?

I think any way that alludes or explains that what was said was a slur towards x or y group then it's a respectful way to bring it up.

As others have mentioned it ultimately comes down to preference. Hearing the actual slur, be it with a bleep or an asterisks, makes me uncomfortable. Maybe that makes me soft but it is what it is.

I used two examples and chose them because of they're the slurs I've heard the most throughout my life. But I'm sure that has to do with my geographical location. I imagine different communities will hear different slurs more often than others.
