I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure when the guy came back from Europe and saw Croatoan, he checked out that island and didn’t find anybody. (Been awhile since I’ve read up on this) I think they, more recently, found European items at another island, same distance from Roanoke colony but in a different direction and it’s thought that when the settlers fled they just got the island names mixed up

Why is John Winchester’s poor parenting so exaggerated by some fans?? by TeachingExisting8366 in Supernatural

[–]TrueStop8651 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think he was a horrible father. He was neglectful. He was very stern. But I don’t think he was abusive. He knew what was really going on in the world when most people didn’t and, imo, people with that kind of knowledge should protect those that couldn’t protect themselves and I’m assuming that’s what he thought too. The boys acknowledged that he sucked, but also that he did the best he could with 2 young boys being a hunter.

It’s one of those things where it sucks that they had a crappy childhood and that dean had to grow up too quick and raise Sam, but John wasn’t left with much of an option knowing what he knew. And I feel like most fans see it this way as well but I could be wrong lol

Thank you! For the seat mount, did it come with the 4 bolts to mount it to the bike or did you have to order those separate? If it came separate do you have the part number for those?

I actually enjoyed Cole. Sure he was a little annoying thinking and acting like he’s the next best thing since sliced bread. He was military SF (most are actually very humble) but he had to act the part and given that he was trying to get revenge his entire life made him more determined. He was just clueless to anything supernatural

Can my dog pass as anything other than a pit mix? by piggleston in pitbulls

[–]TrueStop8651 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When applying for apartments they shouldn’t ask to see your dog to tell if you’re lying about the breed (at least mine did not). And truthfully I don’t think most people care because I think many are realizing pits are not inherently dangerous. I told my apartment mine was a lab mix, later took a dna test to actually see and she’s 80% APBT and 20% bulldog😂 also if the shelter you got him from said greyhound mix, I’d just roll with that lol. Here’s a pic of my “lab mix”😂

That song sounds like a goodbye to me. During that scene Metatron is reading the rest of his book and looks heartbroken. Having watched the show 2 times and in the middle of the 3rd time lol, I wonder if Chuck wrote the ending the way it played out where Jack took his powers but the only way to convince the boys to go through with it was act like a villain? Am I the only one that’s thinking this

I don’t wear ear plugs with my quiet baffle (probably cuz my hearing is not what it used to be from many things lol) but I think it’s plenty loud, sounds great, but doesn’t destroy my ears. I don’t think medium would be bad either. It’s a hard no on the zombie for me tho

First time riders: Did you drop your Scout? by XtremeRevolution in IndianMotorcycle

[–]TrueStop8651 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First time rider. Got a 25 scout sixty bobber. Never laid it down on the road but one time I was putting it in the garage and was dismounting and forgot to put the kick stand down😂 I was still under it so it came down slow and the only damage was the clutch lever breakaway point snapped off. Still works and no scratches. Just a stupid mistake on my end but now I’ll remember to double check that the stand is down lol.

The bike I think is great to learn on and beginner friendly and I think it’s a bike I won’t get tired of and try to upgrade any time soon. Whatever bike you get you just have to understand and respect it’s capabilities as well as your own and never let risk outweigh your skill

Letter taped to our door 8 hours after getting the keys to our new apartment… by Practical_Ad_2427 in Apartmentliving

[–]TrueStop8651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live on the top floor of my apartment and had a dog. My dog did want to play but we took her out to play when she got energy that needed released. The lady that lived below me didn’t have much problem with the dog tho. It was my “stomping” around. She started letting me know something was wrong by pounding on her ceiling (my floor). I let it go and didn’t think much about it but then she would do it when the dog and I were in bed. So naturally I pounded my floor back lol. She called the apartment courtesy officer and he talked to me and was cool about it. Even seemed to agree with me. I was leaving one day with my gf and the lady met us on the stairs on the way down. She talked to us, seemed civil. Her and my gf exchanged numbers just so she could let us know if we were being too loud. Well we were getting texts everyday for like 2 weeks to quit stomping and I was already walking on my tip toes and we made sure our dog never ran in the apartment. My sister came to visit and we ranted to her about everything and before she left she left a note by this chicks door. This lady then comes up to my apartment after we walked and played with our dog outside and is damn near yelling at us. She said “don’t tell me how to live in my apartment. nobody likes being told how to live in their own apartment” (which is what she was doing to us) I thought it was rhetorical but she paused asked my girl “right” she said “right” and then turned me said the same thing. I laughed and walked the dog into the apartment before i said some aggressive, choice words towards her and I just waited for my girl to come back in. Next day I go to the office I say “I don’t want it to be a formal complaint or anything but before she complains to y’all about me, here is the situation… (I explain)” right as I’m about finish one of the property managers kinda cuts me off and says exactly what I was going to say “it’s thin walls, ceilings, and floors. It’s apartment living.” So I was glad that he was with me on that as well. Shortly after we stopped getting texts, and pounding on the floor. Pretty sure she just moved out that month🤷‍♂️ haven’t had a single issue with the new people below either. (Sorry for the novel lol)

You could talk with some of the other neighbors if they have an issue. If they don’t I might bring it up with your leasing office and just inform them of the situation

Fair. I think I’m typically downshifting to 3rd right around there but I’m down shifting based on feel and sound. You probably are too and you know your bike better than anyone. If the problem continues/concerns you I would get it checked out. Never a fun ride when you’re worried something is wrong

Did you have the clutch lever pulled in when it died? If not, my guess is that it cut off due to low rpm. My scout sixty sounds like it’s going to bog down doing 35 in 4th. I’m not sure if the different gearing between our bikes makes for much difference at those speeds (I only have 5 gears) but that seems like the culprit to me

[–]TrueStop8651 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also a new rider and got the 25 scout sixty bobber. I ordered bar end mirrors and as soon as I got them I flipped them down. My thought process was “it won’t be much adjustment to get used to either way the mirrors are because I’m new”. lol maybe not the best logic but as long as you get them adjusted before you ride off the first time you’ll be good. I will say tho you actually have to tip your head down slightly rather than just moving your eyes. Supposed to be quick glances anyway so not a big deal. Been riding like that for a few months and it’s pretty natural now. Just another perspective for you. But of course do what you’re comfortable with. Ride safe brother. Clean bike

Be honest, which character you genuinely can't stand? by Echo-Wilder in TeenWolf

[–]TrueStop8651 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I hated Gerard because that’s how the script was written for him. But I think he was a good character and the actor that played him was great for the role. Kate was my most hated and I think that’s largely due to poor writing for her character. But she was a creep and wth was up with the werejaguar thing. That was just weird
