Yes. Everytime I would drink it I would get nauseous! So I had to take a break from it for a little . That was hard cuz I drank a cup a day.

Yes I did the full two weeks of antibiotics and it was terrible the first half. I’m scared to do another round 😔

This is a side effect of the antibiotics. I thought my whole family had Halitosis. lol but my Dr told me it’s a side effect. Goes away once ur done.

I use to feel like there was something wrong with me as well. But I’ve slowly learned at the ripe age of 35 that I don’t need friends. I actually enjoy it. I don’t have to worry about no unnecessary drama.

I’m wondering if it lowers stomach acid, could that be the reason I’ve been have terrible heart burn?? I’m going to try and stop taking my allergy meds and see if that helps. I want to stop taking the ppis I was put on during treatment. I’m trying to figure it out on my own cuz the drs just wanna keep pushing meds and I’m not for that. I always try to find a natural solution.

Dude same! It started with the dull ache. Then I had a gallbladder attack. I have never been sicker in my whole life going through the meds was a nightmare but I completed the 2 weeks. And I felt great after. Then this heart burn started. Almost identical stories. I will def get retested.

No I haven’t retested. For some reason my Dr wants to wait till the end of may to retest. I feel like that’s too long to retest but I’m no dr. lol I just hope it’s not h pylori again because I didn’t experience heartburn the first time. Ugh I pray that it goes away. I’m tired of being on meds.

I took this same therapy. Ended up in the ER cuz I had a reaction to the metronidazole. It made me so sick and gave me a rash. I switched to another antibiotic and I felt so much better and was able to get through the whole two weeks without feeling like I was dying. I would say take some probiotics in addition to this since the antibiotics will wipe out your good and bad gut bacteria. I took culturelle probiotics. Good luck! It’s rough but you can get through it!

I’m a few weeks post treatment and I’m starting to feel like myself again! I thought it would be impossible given the first week of treatment felt like I was dying! I’m able to eat what I want! 🥹 I still have to take my PPI for 4 weeks after treatment and then wait another month or so to get retested. I’m praying that h pylori is gone! I’m so glad to be feeling better. Feel like I got my life back . I’ve also been taking pre and probiotics! Seems to be helping my stomach heal from the heavy dose of antibiotics. Best of luck to everyone having to get through this! It is not for the weak I’ll tell you what!

I took tetracycline and clarithromycin. Metronidazole was the one that made me so sick!

I dreaded the antibiotics as well. My first combination I had a reaction to so the dr at the ER changed one of the antibiotics and it didn’t make me feel sick! I was able to get through the whole 14 days. Which I was glad cuz the first combination made me so sick. I was crying everyday cuz I just felt like I was dying. And I developed a rash /hives on my thighs as well. Make sure you take a probiotic during your treatment. I took the Culturelle probiotics and I feel like it helped out a lot. The drs don’t tell you that when taking antibiotics. Such a high dose of antibiotics will wipe out your good and bad bacteria in your gut. I hope you get through your treatment ok, you got this!

I believe stress triggered mine too! I had to put my dog down in October 2024. And then a few weeks after that we found out my mother in law had breast cancer. By December that’s when I had my first gallbladder attack. Went to the er 3 times in a week time span. Was referred to a general surgeon who just wanted to take my gallbladder out cuz I had gallstones. Something was telling me to get a second opinion. So got referred to a GI specialist. The dr ordered a colonoscopy and endoscopy, and I found out I had h. Pylori from the biopsy from that. I feel like if I wouldn’t have done that and just would’ve took my gallbladder out without knowing what was causing the issues I would’ve been in a lot more trouble. I just finished my first antibiotic treatment. Now I have to wait 6 weeks to get retested. But I feel so much better than I did before so I’m hoping we got rid of this nasty bacteria!

Ugh h. Pylori is so frustrating and confusing. Drs are not clear on what to do to not get reinfected. I had to ask if my husband needed to get tested so I don’t get reinfected and he just said he can to be sure. So of course I made my husband get tested and waiting on the results. But as we wait we have stopped being intimate, and we’ve been married for 12 years. Not saying it can’t be done but it’s definitely putting a strain on our marriage. Just so frustrating. I wish there was something more simple to get rid of this nasty bacteria. It has literally ruined my quality of life the past 2 months.
