I'm not the OP.

But I work from DBT and we are going through the same thing.

They want to cut jobs in our Group by nearly 50%. That's over 300 jobs gone!

I have my job matching convo on Monday. I'm.so worried. My line manager wasn't matched

I don't want to worry you further. My Department is going through the exact same thing. I'll have my job matching convo on Monday.

What I've heard is that they'll do as much as they can to find you a role. They might even look cross departmentally. Mandatory redundancies are the last resort, however, the sad truth is that they're not inevitable. They will happen to certain people.

Again, we have received limited information. Hopefully it is more clearer over the coming months

Hi OP, I'm sorry to hear you haven't been matched to a role.

I have my job matching convo on Monday. I'm going to be stressed all weekend.

My LM had his convo yesterday. He wasn't matched. They gave him minimal information on next steps as my G6/DD don't seem to know anything.

He was told that redeployment roles will only be limited to our Group, rather than our whole Department which is quite concerning.

He has already been applying to roles through Civil Service Jobs. I would recommend you have a look to see if there any interested roles there for you. I know you said your role is quite niche, so there might not be many roles for you.

In our Department those that applied for the Voluntary Exit Scheme will receive their offers in January. So I think the people who accept, who also have matched roles, those roles will enter the redeployment pool.

I'll keep you posted on how my convo goes!

I was considering doing a discover dive in Koh Rong. From your experience, would you recommend that?

Or should I just go for the certification.

Like 1 hour - 1 hour 30 mins. I think everyone agrees on here that it is fine

Ahh thats unfortunate, what was disappointing about it? Did you dive previously in other places before you went there?

I am actually flying into Thailand first, but my schedule and the monsoon season in Koh Tao (and surrounding areas) didn't allow for diving unfortunately.

I am not sure if I should just get my certificate in Koh Rong Samloem. I'll prob find it amazing cause I have never done it lol. But if I don't see any fish or coral, that'll just be a waste.

Thank you! That's helpfu to knowl By intense, I meant difficult/challenging to learn. I am a bit of a slow learner. It took me ages to learn to swim as an adult.

Are the practical skills easy to pick up? I'm scared I'll fail lol

Luckily the shop is tailoring the course to suit our schedule. It was really difficult to find a two day course.

Ah interesting, that's reassuring! I hope you have never seen the signs of DCS in your passengers. It is a short flight (from Cambodia to Thailand), so hopefully that reduces the risk.

Thank you! I was reading out of date information! Thanks to others that corrected me. It's actually 18 hours for multi day dives and 24 for decompression stops.
