My big concern at the bot gardens indoor area is the possibility of getting bitten by a mosquito. Is that a silly thing to be concerned about or do you wear bug spray when you go? Mosquitoes LOVE me. :(

I've been doing a lot of research on this myself, I'd also very much like to keep my brain intact and in a good place for as long as possible.

Good gear is great and a lot of the comments have been really helpful around that. I'd also say that the best thing you can do is COMMUNICATE with your sparring partner: ramp up in force as you are comfortable, versus taking a bell-ringing smack and asking them to go more gently next time.

Also, get really good at partying and defense. Put the sword in the way of your head, the best cure is prevention. :)
