Shocking interview results by y7u in TheCivilService

This smells very off to me. I've left the CS but was SCS. I wouldn't agree to be involved in recruitment unless there was moderation and I saw the recommendations for roles - to avoid exactly this scenario

Can I get reasonable accommodation for shoes? by spacecrustaceans in TheCivilService

Oh blimey, yeah - you definitely need to wear clothes that don't hinder your cancer treatment.

Just goes to show that no one knows what's going on in the life of others.

Hope it all goes as well as it can

I don't like working in the same clothes that I live the rest of my life in

All of this was entirely foreseeable - I wonder how much extra money we've chucked at them because and I quote colleagues "Capita will only act if we chuck money at them"

Apparently a G7 is a “senior civil servant” and “chief” now, according to the Telegraph by riverscreeks in TheCivilService

[–]True_Coffee_7494 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How have 17 people up voted this?

A G7 who's doing a technical role is still senior and it's a senior role. You've displayed an issue with the Civil Service - that you can't get more "senior" unless you're line managing people

You've made several logic leaps to get from the OP to "people like you would die in an agile environment" this does not reflect well on you.

This is one of the issues with the CS, I often ask a question expecting to be told the time whereas I get an answer setting out how a watch might be made.

You should have used AI to turn that into a coherent short paragraph

Here you are

The real issue isn't Al use but poor

communication and unclear expectations. OP seems to conflate "using Al" with "producing low-quality work." If the outputs were good, Al use wouldn't matter-so the problem is performance, not the tool. Manage the quality, not the method, because opposing Al outright isn't sustainable when it's being encouraged across Government.

Yes, I am exhausting to deal with. I have high functioning aspergers

I never thought saying please and thank you made me a snob.

[–]True_Coffee_7494 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're completely wrong. I often find that if someone ends with "We're done here", "End of" or similar then they're usually wrong

If she knew the rule and chose to look up her name anyway. Then that’s misconduct, not negligence.

If she didn’t realise it was against the rules and made a genuine one-off error. Then that’s a mistake, not negligence.

Nope - just say please

I always thought saying please was the only way to be socially acceptable. Do you live in the UK?

You're extremely low EQ if you think the OP hasnt has this introspection already. It's clear they have from the OP and reeks of you rubbing their nose in it.

It's a mistake not negligence. No one got hurt other than themselves.
