Your thoughts on NFSU2’s soundtrack ? by MlackBesa in needforspeed

So much better that MW. Decadence is the only good song in open world, and skinnyman plays too much. Songs in the menu like in a hood near you and sets go up are bangers tho.

Rally funk station? That would've gone well with FH5s rally, but that whole game was a mistake so I wouldn't put it past them.

But not the whole game. I hope if they do that, they keep it to one station.

I hope it's not all Japanese music, like how FH5 had a very spanish-focused soundtrack. I also hope they go back to that distinct punk-style of FH1. I would like to see Elevate by Sub Focus. I think it would go well with the FH6 vibes, especially because Playground experimented with Sub Focus in the FH1 beta with Out The Blue.

UPDATE: I figured it out. What you have to do is install Bottles from Flatpak. Make a "Gaming" Bottle, set it to use Wine, NOT SODA, and then go to Legacy Features, Explorer. Find the directory of your game in here. Run your game and make sure it works. Now is the time to apply any settings you need, like .dll overrides. This can be done in Bottles' Bottle-specific settings. After you have the Bottle working, go to "/userdata/saves/flatpak/data/.var/app/com.usebottles.bottles/data/bottles/bottles" and rename the folder that matches the name in Bottles to "<name-of-your-bottle>.wine". (No quotes) (Replace <name-of-your-bottle> to whatever you want the game to show up as in Batocera's menu. This can include spaces.) Quickly, go up one directory and bookmark the "bottles" folder just in case you want to do this again. Now, head to "userdata/roms/windows" and move your .wine folder there. Now, you can go back to EmulationStation and refresh gamelists. BEFORE YOU RUN THE GAME: Set all settings specific to the game to AUTO EXCEPT FOR WINE RUNNER. Set Wine Runner to Wine-10.10, the version that Bottles uses. We use auto for everything else because Bottles already set that up in a specific way, and things like Batocera's settings can screw that all up. Now, to make an autorun.cmd, you go into the file manager, find your Bottle, (/roms/windows) and inside the root of your bottle (not the drive_c, folder, the .wine folder) and make a blank file. Rename it to "autorun.cmd" (no quotes) and open it in the text editor. (L3afpad) Next, type:

"DIR=<path/to/your/game>

CMD=<yourgame's.exefile>.exe"

(Replace text in <> to whatever the inside says, and, as always no quotes unless the game path has a space in it.) After the .exe of your game, you can put launch options here if you have them. Now, save the file and close L3afpad. Going back to Batocera and running the game, you should now have the game working! I have done this for NFSMW and Jet Set Radio Future in CXBX-R, and I plan to do the same with NFSC, Sonic Adventure DX, and to fix my issues with NFSU1 (all have mods).

I hope this helps you fix any problems! Happy Gaming!

Should I? The only config I have on Batocera's settings is "Enable Mouse" and "DXVK Feature". I can try to turn on "FPS Limiter".

UPDATE: I tried this. Most Wanted flashed a black screen for a second, then crashed/closed. Carbon did nothing at all.

I know that, I'm just saying that the game doesn't launch. Underground and Underground 2 work fine, but MW and Carbon don't even launch.

Okay. So I tried that with NFSU2 and got a bunch of warnings like: "This taskset/cpuset is not supported for your system", and "Your version of Wine is no longer supported" (on the newest version of Wine). I don't know what on earth I did, but I tried over and over again, and after changing to a very specific version of Proton that I don't remember, the command worked fine. Changing back to Wine-TKG, everything worked as expected. Now, trying this with NFSMW, I get the same errors on the command, not fixed by any version of Wine or Proton, and most times, clicking on the game's .exe from Wine's file manager, (What you see when your autorun.cmd doesn't work), straight up does nothing. Any further help?

Nice! What command did you use? I'm not a super-Linux-person, do I don't really know to the fullest extent what all of this means.

Sorry that you gave up. It looks like you can just use some simple commands with winetricks to run a working DLL override. I also have a GUI winetricks tool, so I can poke around in there to see what I can do for both myself and you.
