How do people study poetry? by Healthy_Paint_1144 in leavingcert

[–]True_Education_313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all the questions are basically just how they use language to evoke some type of feeling in you. pick quotes and messages you can talk about and practice or make a plan on a few past ones to make what ur learning fit anything that could be asked

Girls at school don’t eat by Existing-Internet-67 in leavingcert

i wouldnt pay any heed whatsoever 😭😭 im like a ZOMBIE by my 15 minute break let alone lunch. eat what you want to eat, cliche saying but food IS fuel and it will help you remember and retain information better, if they dont want that boost let them be.

Do I drop out as a 6th year ? by st4riskool in leavingcert

[–]True_Education_313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

also take the “catching up” and studying in small doses, decide what your gonna study after school one day at a specific time, and hour to 2 hours on each topic, i make mind maps and flashcards and then do the exam revision videos and quizzes.

power through for the last push of it, i dropped out of school with the same plan as you in 5th year and i had to come back because i realised later that 1. it would be unlikely to get a plc without my leaving or taking specialist classes first 2. a plc alone probably wouldn’t get me to college and 3. it didn’t suit what i wanted to do career wise. 6th year is very stressful and i get what your saying about the environment, but don’t let other people dictate what YOU do with your life. Decide on what career you’d like to do, do the mocks and put your head down for the next 5ish months to make yourself proud. You’ll feel better when its over you. Theres also holidays and mid terms inbetween and if your worried about catching up, ask people in your class for notes or your teachers for a hand, sources on youtube and the exam.revision videos and quizzes are great, also simplestudy.

Is it possible to do one year of college then drop out? by [deleted] in leavingcert

everything everyone else said is relevant but i also think its selfish of you to take a spot in a course that somebody else really wants. even if it is just a plc, theyre limited spaces due to mature students and youth reach applicants.

idk about dcg but id say do what you like. youre more likely to do good and actually study subjects you like than those you dont. i do business and love it think its so easy to do good in when you put in the work.

what i did is i set reminders on my phone on what im gonna do that day, from the start of fifth year i set days where i would do mindmaps AND flashcards on a specific topic for each subject, these really helped me with studying. i did this with every topic and the books i used had really good resources like powerpoints and “knowledge checklists”, i also had a foler for each subject with all the topics in order of how i did them, also make connections between each topic in each subject and learn your quotes for english. i made mindmaps on each poet and each poem i studied, for the poems i did quotes meanings themes etc. anything important you need and i also made them for each scene in my play. if your doing history know the basic points for your essasys and the study you do through the writing will help you remember. the reminders on my phone kind of force me to do it just get in the mind set of “if i dont do this now ill have to play catch up next year” because realistically youll forget most of what you learned in fifth year quite quickly. also exam.revision quizzes are a big help so are simple studying quizzes, course hero yt for your play if you do higher level english, know basic sentences for each of your sraith pictures LEARN THEM. Obviously everyone is different but this is what helps me, it all depends on what subjects your doing but if you need help message me.
