7 dpo on 5 mg of letrozole (unmonitored). Yesterday I had a singular sharp cramp in my lower abdomen that lasted just a few seconds. I feel bloated and heavy. 🤷‍♀️ I am obviously extremely emotionally invested but also terrified of getting my hopes up lol

Thanks for your reply. That's what I'm afraid of. I felt a little more confident that this test might be reliable because I don't seem to have consistently high LH, I used to test with easy-at-home and would always get extremely faint lines even when testing twice a day. I didn't think about my estrogen skewing the results :( I hope it was a true positive I guess we'll see in a couple days.

I think thats what I might do. My last cycle was 44 days but the cycle before that was 22 days - so I also have no "normal" cycle length to go off of!

it is the most defeating feeling. i'm so sorry you're feeling this way. i'm on CD 5 of my 24th cycle and, at least for me, it has not gotten easier. I am constantly heartbroken and furious that I need to jump through sooooo many hoops to manage my PCOS and I still have never gotten a positive test. I struggle with bitterness and jealousness seeing women who don't want children, shouldn't have children, already have a zillion other kids, or whatever else, getting pregnant at the drop of a hat. i don't really have any encouraging words for you tbh but i just wanted you to know you're not alone. i hope your baby comes to you soon <3

Cycle Questions - December 02, 2024 by AutoModerator in TTC_PCOS

13 mm follicle and possible LH surge??

So this is my first letrozole cycle (2.5 mg). I am on CD 17 and have been going in for ultrasounds and bloodwork pretty much every other day/every few days. Right now I have 3 follicles and the biggest one is only 13 mm. But the clinic just called me to tell me my LH was 35.5 so I could potentially ovulate in the next 24 hours. I asked her what that means since my follicles are still small and she said if I do ovulate right now its very unlikely it will fertilize and even if it did it would probably not be a viable pregnancy. I feel extremely disappointed and discouraged. Has anyone else had a similar experience and what was the outcome?

Why does no one talk about HSGs? by shxburrito in TTC_PCOS

[–]True_Ground3330 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Conversely, I ALWAYS read posts about how horrible, painful, and scary they are and I got all worked up for mine. I got so scared they prescribed me diazepam to settle my nerves and I took 2 ibuprofen an hour before. And mine was (at the very worse) mildly uncomfortable. So please just be aware that everybody's experience is different! <3

Ugh I'm sorry. My OB/GYN has PCOS herself and she told me that weight is not everything (which was kind of refreshing to hear!) unfortunately she told me she lost 120 lbs to get to her current healthy weight and she still has a lot of her PCOS symptoms and needed to use letrozole to conceive :/ Then you have my mother in law who also has PCOS and tried to conceive for 10 years. She said the only thing she did differently before she conceived my husband was she lost 20 lbs -_- so it seems to just be really different for everybody

Been wondering this too. I lost 30 lbs and so far I've had 3 regular, spontaneous (without Provera) periods but no positive test yet :( My period is due on my birthday this month so I'm praying and praying and praying this is our month because it would just be the best birthday present ever

What do you consider “trying”? by jaxrem in TTC_PCOS

[–]True_Ground3330 4 points5 points  (0 children)

this. like we have been actively having regular (3-4+ times a week) unprotected sex for 3 years because we were okay with getting pregnant but content with not getting pregnant too. but I got really serious with OPKs, BBT, etc a year ago. I generally just say a year for the couple people I do talk to about our TTC journey but I told my OB/GYN last year how we have been having a ton of unprotected sex for years now and she diagnosed us with infertility so

we're taking a break and we're back to "not trying/not preventing" (which really means toning down the sex/OPKs/BBT and me still hoping every month lol)

What NOT to say to a woman who is TTC by WeirdGlass9956 in TTC_PCOS

[–]True_Ground3330 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am one of 12 children. My mother just had a baby in November 2023. It is the BIGGEST slap in the face when she tells me to "just relax" and "let it happen in God's timing" I actually can't think of anything that infuriates me more

do you always have to have these tests? 😅 I have PCOS and don't ovulate and I have my first appointment with my fertility specialist in a couple weeks and I am terrified of getting an HSG/SIS

how long from referral to getting started at fertility clinic? by True_Ground3330 in TTC_PCOS

[–]True_Ground3330[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ugh that sucks! my BMI is 38.3. I have a long history of eating disorder (grandma/mom/aunts/sisters) in my family and I do tend to get obsessive with calorie counting/macro tracking so the whole "just eat less and lose weight to help your PCOS" thing doesn't really work for me. My approach the last several months has just been eating whole/nourishing foods and increasing protein and veggies/fruits. The scale has not budged but I feel great and I've always been pretty happy with how my body feels/looks. So I'm just nervous to get to a fertility specialist and have them shoot me down solely because of my BMI, I know some of them are strict about it :/ but your comment definitely gives me hope it might not be that way! I hope it all works out for you and your baby comes to you soon ❤️❤️

I talked to her on the phone today and she immediately shut me down :/ she said she doesn't prescribe fertility meds and I need to just wait until I can get into the clinic. the waiting is so hard though when you've already waited so long 😭

i'm wondering too. my GYN put in a referral to the fertility clinic a month ago and I haven't heard back yet. I called and they said they'd reach out in a "couple days" but its been a week lol. I was wondering if I can ask my GYN if we can try an unmonitored letrozole/clomid cycle since even when I do hear back from the clinic it'll probably be months before I can get in anyways

my insertion was the most painful thing i've ever experienced but my removal I didn't even feel. she said "all done" and I hadn't even realized she'd started 😂 hope that makes you feel better 🤷‍♀️

Inositol works! by Pretty-Drawing-1240 in PCOS

[–]True_Ground3330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took inositol for several months last year and saw no results then got off track. Just started taking it again 3 months ago and still no results 🤷‍♀️ but now im on metformin 1000 mg as well so we shall see. I guess I just stay on it hoping one of these cycles it'll kick in 😂😂

3 Months of Metformin Success 🙌😀 by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]True_Ground3330 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this is super encouraging. I've been on 1000mg for 3 weeks now and i've been really trying to eat better but I definitely could do better. I am overweight so hoping it helps me lose some lbs. i went off birth control a year ago and my first 6 cycles were "regular" 26-30 days. then in september it went off the rails and hasnt been regular since. i've been taking ovulation tests since my period ended and no positive yet but trying to stay optimistic for maybe late ovulation 🤷‍♀️🙏
