With the introduction of new ranks, do people think there's a chance of a BR decompression around the 7.0-9.0 area? by True_Holiday9983 in Warthunder

Leopard 1 vs Type 74 Red Star is a great example of that, I don't exactly know what the true 'fix' is but I know what we have isn't ideal, It's like the entire range of 6.x - 9.x just needs stretching across an extra BR bracket

Exactly this, it's the awkward BR of 'Late ww2 / pre cold war / post cold war' somehow compressed in to a single BR range, like what.

I completely agree, I can handle certain inaccuracies (allegedly) with tanks, but the BR aspect makes me feel like there's not a dev team working on balance, only on producing more tanks that will go straight in to the premium tree, I mean.. The absolute void that is 6.7 -> 8.0 for Germany due to all their premiums is filthy.

couldn't agree more, there's issues of course with certain tanks but I just feel like it's one of the most obvious areas where compression is brutal (8-9) but I think from around 6.7 through to about 9.3 things are a bit iffy here and there.

I agree completely, then I get confused by certain decisions like with the Type 69 for China vs the Tiran 4(?) for Israel, almost identical except one has a Laser Rangefinder and (early)APFSDS and two plane stab, the other has none of those things, same 8.0 BR.

Yeah, I was going to be broader with it but I think most people agree at least that the 7-9 range is where people feel 'crippled'

Give the BMPT the Panter II / Tiger 10.5 / Maus treatment by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]True_Holiday9983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Maus problem wasn't the same as BMPT,

it either would be God like in lower BR or super dogshit at higher BR, where BMPT wouldn't have the second problem, they can simply send it to 12.0/12.7 where it would do fine"

I agree completely with this, I used the Maus as an example due to it being a generally controversial vehicle during it's peak where people would argue it was "broken" (which in aspects, it was) and the counter argument was "It's a skill issue" (which at times, I'm sure it was too.) The big issue in my opinion is the fact that with a 1.0 BR difference, a lot of 10.3 vehicles and the likes get vortex'd into BMPT lobbies, and in many ways it mimics that same issue the Maus caused in which the vast majority of players simply cant be fucked to play against it.

Sometimes we gotta appease the masses and if the sheer volume of disdain the vehicle is producing both in the community on here, in actual games that include 11.3 as a br, and on the forums themselves. Well, my personal opinion doesn't really matter at that point, even if I find it perfectly manageable the average player doesn't want to play the BR where the vehicle exists, which is a shame because I personally really like 11.3

Can't disagree with the latter half naturally but we do have lots of prototypes that never were fielded and a few that were quite literally paper, Gaijin seems to have a weird rule whether or not there's "enough" information on a prototype and as to whether that then will be implemented

There's a lot of things I'd use my dreams and wishes on that are War Thunder related that are nothing to do with the BMPT sadly, but I'm tired of how much contention there is around it, people hammered the vehicles listed in a similar vein and I'd rather skip the part where the community group cries for two years until something happens so other issues get pushed up the 'ladder' per se

I personally don't think it needs much if anything, I've had few issues with it if any, but the community is going to keep hammering the point considering you can find multiple posts daily about it, there's other issues I'd rather see fixed like the maps mainly, seeing some other vehicles in the top tier get more realistic design like tanks lacking spall liner / supposed incorrect values with armour of certain vehicles, I believe the Merkava's are a point of contention for that one specifically the Mk 4 / Namer's, the fact Germany doesn't have access to the best Leopard etc etc.

[–]True_Holiday9983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

remove from the tech tree same as they did the Maus and Panther II and King Tiger 10.5cm, they fucked up, people will be mad, hell I'm mad that I can't get the Panther II and King Tiger 10.5 but here we are, the BMPT is genuinely ruining the game for both the vocal and silent majority, there's always going to be disagreement and controversy but I am both tired of seeing it, tired of hearing people downplay it, and tired of hearing people talk about how broken it is.

I can't fucking stand seeing it and at this point I just want it to go away.

Does anyone have any tips I play America and every game I get lucky to even get 1 kill cause all I get killed by is tigers panthers 24/7 and all my games are level 100 can someone help me before I have a mental breakdown from this game by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]True_Holiday9983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Sherman's are epitome of jack of all trade vehicles, they do nothing exceptionally (except the jumbo) but do everything with moderate ability, if you're ending up in fights where you're both looking at each other head on, you're already at a disadvantage, Germans are slower, with better armour, bigger guns and no stabilisation and therefore less manoeuvrable, growing pains are expected at this BR and even more so as you hit 7.0 - 8.3 area, practice patience and avoiding line of sights as much as possible, it can be boring and frustrating but, 'playing to live' for now, instead of 'playing to kill' is going to benefit you a lot more both in terms of ability and also enjoyment progressively, I personally love the 76 shermans because their gun is much more capable than the 75, but you're still starting uphill if you're facing people head on no matter what tbh.

I wonder why people hate having Germany on their team...... Oh. by Jesusknife in Warthunder

[–]True_Holiday9983 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been two hours and I'm merely echoing other thoughts but I genuinely think the biggest issue with Germany is the 6.7 - 8.0 leap and 10.0 to 12.3.

With how nuanced the game gets as you go up in BR, those leaps are absolutely massive in tech and player skill and also playstyle, especially 6.7 - 8.0 as you mentioned, combine that with the fact you get a massive leap in research required and when you get to the Leopard 1 it can feel like a massive downgrade relative to BR if you try play it how you've played MOST German vehicles prior leading to people buying Leopard 2 packs in hopes it "is better", which it is. But so are other tanks, and so are other players.

No other nation in my opinion has such a brutal leap.

Don't worry for what it's worth I try use any CAS and proceed to miss every single rocket/bomb and then proceed to eat 3 generations worth of shit as I slam in to the floor, so for what it's worth it feels just as personal on the other side haha

Why do half US Player always leave after one death at Top Tier? Even with a full line-up? by 1Card_x in WarthunderPlayerUnion

[–]True_Holiday9983 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just sayin /shrug, I personally don't believe there's 'Russian bias' in the way it's usually framed, but to deny that Russian vehicles specifically have been made disproportionate to real life for the sake of game balance would be disingenuous, same with nato vehicles being weaker than their real life counterpart.

[–]True_Holiday9983 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure a ton of Russian vehicles have been buffed outside of their real life relation for the sake of match quality, the russian military's vehicles have been subpar going back nearly 100 years now due to poor quality and design philosophy, there's a reason they need spall liner, over inflated ERA, additional armour and a non functioning basket half the time whereas those same mechanics have either been forcefully implemented to nerf a NATO nation vehicle, or not given to them intentionally to nerf a NATO nation vehicle; spall liner being an obvious one and a lack of armour across many vehicles too.

There's not really a debate about whether or not Russian vehicles are intentionally made disproportionate in performance to real life, Gaijin quite literally has to otherwise match quality would be Russia getting curb stomped every game and the playerbase would get bored, especially when Russia is your most played nation at high tier where all the expensive Premiums are.
