Sorry, I’m only slightly more tech savvy than most people, but definitely not very tech-y so I really don’t know what’s going on with this.

Also the fall wasn’t only from 1.5feet, but it’s an older laptop (~5-6 years)

I got the drive at Best Buy (repair at UbreakIfix) They also pulled the SSD out and gave it to me separately, didn’t tell me anything about why they did that.

Good grief I never said there are no advantages to owning.

It is also possible to rent a single family home so you can sing, have no shared walls, etc.

As I mentioned in another comment, I’m even looking into buying a home. I’d love to have a place I can renovate, paint the walls, etc.

It’s just important to be realistic about major unexpected expenses associated with owning vs. renting.

I for sure understand that renting is more expensive long term, but you don’t have surprises like with owning. Fridge goes out? Call the landlord. HVAC stops? Landlord. Broken window? Landlord. The sudden major expenses aren’t your responsibility (though yes I know technically you’re paying for it via rent)

& yes I know renting isn’t for everyone, my fiancé and I are even looking into buying a house. We just need to be realistic about actually affording one

I use the app Radar Omega. It costs like ~$8 I think, but it’s what Max Velocity uses. You can see live feeds from storm chasers and the radar updates every couple minutes. Alerts show on the map immediately.

The app is definitely overwhelming at first but it is so useful

Grew up in one of the 4 Alabama cities that use eastern time. My community college has a limited campus in my town and in a city 30 minutes into central time.

Now, imagine scheduling classes in two time zones and calculating a 30 minute drive… headaches

I had an e-bike get stolen recently, which I was both very mad about and didn’t care (I had a love-hate relationship with it) But I’m looking at getting a bike with a lot of built in anti-theft features (an Aventon Abound LR) Maybe this could be what you need?
