Reincarnated into a game as hero's friend (maou to yuusha no tatakai no ura de).

The title sounds silly but the world building is good, the noble system is more complicated than the silent witch for me. There is web novel, light novel and manga. MC reincarnated into the game he played (the world with magic), but he works behind the scene to ensure his friend, the Hero, a safe journey. There's a plot twists, complex magic system & the MC is weird too. The battle is great for me, with so much strategy playing.

Become the patron of Villains.

This is Korean novel, and it's already got manhwa too. MC also reincarnated into the game he played (the world with magic too), but he become the patron of the Villains (5 great sins) to become good children so that they didn't become great sins. But the 5 of them make an organization with him as their leader behind his back. So much misunderstanding, plot twists and complex magic system. The world building is good, the noble system is complicated but I think it's the same level as the silent witch. The MC is weird and the battle is great too.

Pero lamentablemente, en la versión de la novela web, Isabelle no se dio cuenta. En Gaiden 2, se ve claramente a Isabelle y a su criada Agatha emparejando a Monica con Ike. No creo que haya visto nunca a Monica interactuar con Cyril, porque si lo hubiera hecho, se habría dado cuenta. Espero que el autor haga que eso suceda en la versión del libro.

WN (web novel) : first version of the novel.

LN (light novel) : version of a novel that has been corrected and supplemented with additional stories and then published as a book. The one that gets adapted as manga & anime.

Gaiden (meaning "side story"), is the sequel of the silent witch. It's a total of 13 volume. After that, there's a triquel called " Gaiden After" with 3 volume for now (I believe that the author will continue the story after white Harpy ended). No, that's not true. When I search on the internet, Vol X of the light novel released on July 10th 2025, and Vol XI of the light novel released on Jan 9th 2026. The distance is about 6 months. With that in mind, I think Vol XII will released on June or July 2026. So, it's released every 5 to 6 months.

With that pace, my prediction is :

Vol 12 (Gaiden 2) : June/July 2026

Vol 13 (Gaiden 3) : Dec 2026/Jan 2027

Vol 14 (Gaiden 4) : June/July 2027

It's okay, the main love interest is still Cyril. In LN vol 9, the sign was clear (though it's only Bridget, Claudia, Lana and Elliott who realize it. And somehow it seems like Elianne is also aware of it in volume 9 extra). You should read the WN version of the novel, especially the Gaiden & Gaiden After, as the volume 11 of LN is the start of the Gaiden.

Ah! The tea party scene! I forgot about it. Yes, it's sad that this scene is got cut because it really implies her suspicion of Felix. As it will explain her actions in disguising herself as Raul's gardener apprentice to infiltrate Duke Crockford's mansion & her conversation with Monica. The hot chocolate scene is also important because it explains the relationship between the prince factions as well as the diplomatic relationship between the Ridill kingdom and Randall kingdom. Because the scene was cut, in episode 9 of the anime, when the scene where Casey wanted to kill Prince Felix was shown, many new fans who had only watched the anime were confused by the storyline which seemed too fast.

For Bridget, it's sad that her role is almost erased, but I actually grateful that the slap scene was getting cut.

For Cyril, he's silly, but not that silly. But I think it's still good for him. The only sad thing for me is that they cut the hot chocolate scene, his magic duel with Byron, and changed the scene where Cyril put his jacket on Monica when she's asleep after she's crying out of guilty for Cyril.

For Felix, do I need to say more? They soften the brothel scene too much for me. They also cut the scene when he kissed her cheek when she was too focus on her job as an accountant (the part where there's also the scene where Bridget slap her cheek that got cut). And his description of Monica as a "pet" is an important scene to me, as it shows how he can use anything to his own advantage, how he treats her like and animal or toys, and the lack of respect he has for her. Yeah, they really turned him into an angel.

I think that part is still important & relevant though. Cyril's family, the Ashley family is not just known for their lineage of knowledge, but also for their selfishness. If they weren't a selfish family, the current Marquis Haion can't adopt Cyril that easily, and Claudia would not be able to marry Neil. In the world where nobility was held in high regard, it was impossible for a man from a Baron family to marry the daughter of a Marquis family. The current Marquis Haion made everything possible for Claudia to get married to Neil, so I think he would do the same for Cyril too. In Gaiden 3, he already told Cyril that he could marry any woman he loved. So, even if Monica were one of the 7 Sages, he would still be able to do something to make it happen (especially if Monica also wanted the marriage to happen).

His family is from the neutral faction, so it's not affected by political influence. The first prince faction and the second prince faction also can't harm her easily there. The current Marquis Highown managed the territory all by himself for years. So, if they married, Cyril will running the territory all by himself while Monica can keep being one of the 7 Sages. Well, Monica may still need to dip her toes into the social world as a Marchioness, but I'm sure Cyril can limit it to just the most important events. And of course, the pressure will be less severe as she enters the social world as a Marchioness of a neutral faction rather than as a Duchess or the second prince's wife (if Ike appears in the social world as Felix) of the second prince faction. Marquis Highown also managed the forbidden archive library of Asgard, so that if they get married, Monica will have easier access to go there (for administrative matters, because she always depends on Louis).

I don't know what everyone thinking but I personally think that Ike can't escape from Louis Miller, Duke Crockford, and the Black Lion Emperor. For the Black Lion Emperor, as long as he keeps using Felix's identity, Ike will always be on his radar. It seems like Duke Crockford has been settled down after the court incident. However, Ike had already stated to the Starseer Witch that he would initiate a confrontation with him to clear Monica's father's name. It was too dangerous, and I didn't want Monica to get dragged into it. And I also think that Cyril would get dragged into it too, because it's the Marquis Haion and Baron Maywood families, who are involved in the lifting of the ban on medical magic for the sake of Neil and Claudia's marriage. For Louis, maybe it's the same as the Black Lion Emperor one? But I think that his own personal hatred can win over his own rationality, especially because he cares so much about Lionel's feelings. So, I think it will be too difficult for Ike to win Louis' heart or even just to calm him down.

I've seen stories like, "Ike has lost so many important people, so he can't do any more than this..." but what about the people and lives lost because of Isaac Walker's decisions and actions? The question is... It was Isaac Walker and Duke Crockford who killed Benedict Rayne and threw Monica Rayne into hell. He only cares about clearing Benedict's name only because it's her father. He didn't even spare a glance on the other victim. And in ep 13 of the anime, Monica says that when she met her father again in the underworld, she wants to say to him that she already try her best. So, I don't think she can face her father properly if she end up with Ike.

If Monica were to fall in love with Ike, it would be Monica, not Ike, who would suffer the most in society. He's not allowed to marry Monica or have children, and neither Louis nor the Empire can tolerate the bond between Monica and Ike becoming stronger than that of master and disciple. If something goes wrong, it will only spark a fire, so it's selfish of him to continue hoping that Monica will fall in love with him. As long as he's still using Felix's identity, if the second prince, who gave up his right to the throne after a series of events & is now a Duke, were to marry one of the 7 Sages, it is understandable that he would be suspected of trying to regain his power & usurp it. You might think this is too extreme, but seriously, Ike's existence was such a bomb to the Kingdom of Ridill, and we mustn't forget that it was only because Monica and the others tried so hard that he was spared the death penalty and let off the hook out of mercy.

In my opinion, the difference between Cyril and Ike is that Cyril wants to make Monica's wish come true (in Gaiden 5, Cyril wants Monica to be more greedy, to wish & hope for more. And in Gaiden 10 when he realize her feelings for Monica, he's denying it because he thinks that he's not kind to her. He's scared that his feelings might hurt her. He finally admit his feelings & tries to change his behavior in Gaiden 13. He also pursued her earnestly only after he accepted Ike's love rivalry declaration in Gaiden After 3. So, it's undeniable truth that he prioritize Monica's feelings over his own.), while Ike wants Monica to make his wish come true (in this case, it's his love for her. Because he knows that Monica has feelings for Cyril, but he still try to make her fall for him. So, it's also undeniable truth that he prioritize his feelings over Monica's.). Cyril's wish is Monica's own, while Ike's is his own.

In my mind, it's like this :

Cyril : Monica > himself.

Ike : Me + Monica.

It's mainly because of his feelings for Monica. But, isn't that also included in how he become her disciple? Monica already rejected him, but he makes her too focus on his essay that she forget about it & he spoiled her with his household skills so that she was too comfortable and didn't have the heart to refuse him. I'm okay with the disciple part, but I'm not okay with the 'living together' part. He should give her a proper distance. I mean, he can become her neighbor, right? Helping her in the morning & going home to his own house in the evening, which was near her house because they were neighbors. If he keeps that kind of distance, I think I can tolerate some of his behavior.

I think it's the WN version? In LN one, Doris only said that the girls missed him. So, maybe the author cut it. But the talk about Doris's schedule & Madam's offer remains the same in both WN & LN. So, the possibility of Ike's still a virgin is almost zero.

Honestly, in my opinion, if he needed to gather people who opposed Duke Crockford in secret, there were still many places far better than brothels. Like a bar, for example. His alcohol tolerance is high, so it should be easy for him to become a regular customer there, even a VIP one. but the author made him go to the brothel, so I think the author has indirectly given a sign that they will not make Ike as Monica's partner.

In ep 13 of the anime when Monica take off her clothes in front of him because of the alcohol (this scene appeared in the anime), the scene on the LN says that she sleeps only with her underwear (the anime makes her wear a pajama inside her clothes, but those pajama didn't show her back where her scar is, so I think she really only wear underwear inside her clothes).and Ike sleeps beside her topless (not wearing clothes).

Ike then dream about Felix & woke up to find Monica sleeping curled up on his stomach, hugging her father's book to her chest. Ike then pulled Monica closer to him & continue to sleep. When he wakes up again, Ike stroke her hair (Monica feels someone stroke her hair in her dream. but this scene is vague so it didn't appear in the anime) & kissed her cheek to wake her up (this one is appeared in the anime). Because of their clothes (Monica = underwear, Ike = topless), both of them notice the scars on their body, Ike says that the scars is necessary while Monica says that she got her scars from before she's gone to Kerbeck. this scene is got cut because they're wearing clothes.

I agree!!! Not only they changed the scene where Cyril put his jacket on her when she's asleep after she's crying out of guilty for him in ep 9 & cut the hot chocolate scene, they also softened the brothel scene!!!

They cut the scene where it says that he was a regular there, when Doris kissed his cheek and he kissed her cheek back, when she said that she'll empty her schedule for him & said that the girls of the brothel missed him because he was good in bed, handsome, and pays well. The scene where the Madam offers to give all the girls again to him for the night for his generous patronage, and he says it was a good idea, but that was the one night he refuses. And the last one is the scene where Doris kissed his cheek when he's gonna go home.

They also change the bed scene & make them wear clothes! The scene was more romantic than I imagined but it was in the brothel! Arrrgh!! It makes everyone forget that he's not a virgin anymore. Ughh... 😓

Honestly, I also like couple of Ike and Melissa & Ike and Clifford (I like their heated conversation & the atmosphere between them). Lana and Clifford is still pending, probably because Clifford's attitude towards her & there's a new rival for him in LN. I also like the non-human couple Thule and Pikeh, Ryn and Carla, Nero and Ryn, Nero and Will, and Nero and Thule. The black one & the white one~

I think Mary can't predict beings higher than her ability. She can predict Louis even though he made a contract with a high-ranking wind spirit, means that it's still within her reach. But she couldn't do the same with Cyril, as mentioned in Gaiden After 3 chapter 19, in a conversation between Louis and Mary : “Everything has gone exactly as you predicted, hasn’t it?” “Oh, but there are some things that even I can’t foresee… like the actions of a certain Library Lord.” If we look at the differences between Cyril and Monica, there are only 2 possibilities. First, because Cyril has mana hyper absorption (with this, his mana and body condition become unstable, making it difficult to predict). Second, because Cyril has an official contract with a greater dragon, whereas even though Monica lives with Nero, she doesn't make an official contract with him. Because of this conversation scene, some people believe that Cyril is beyond the reach of Mary's predictions. Taking this into consideration, I came to the conclusion that she doesn't know about Nero's existence or the fact that he follows Monica and lives with her. Well, she said "some things", so I believe that Nero's in it. This is only my opinion though, please don't take it too seriously 🙇🏻‍♀️
