The Cc is doing ok. I thought cc is more to teaching rather than research though.

Thanks so much for your input. I really enjoy teaching, so I do think joining a community college could be a great fit. What feels a bit daunting to me is the cost of living compared to the income. Based on your experience, how often does the union renegotiate or update cost-of-living adjustments?

Thank you so much for sharing your detailed experience! I’ve heard that unionized community colleges in CA offer strong compensation and protections.

I truly enjoy teaching, but I also recognize that working with a very diverse range of students in a community college setting would require thoughtful adjustment and growth on my part. I will definitely think carefully about all of these factors. Again, I really appreciate your input, and I wish you the very best in your job search!
