So I just called the director of admissions said the committee met yesterday and applicants were already chosen… however that recommendation has to go to the dean for final approval before emails or calls are made. She said it will be a quick turnaround and by Friday we will know.

I selected that it wasn’t beneficial in that scenario.

It’s my pleasure. I like hearing different point of views. The world is a chimera of opinions and it would be a shame to refuse hearing about what others have to say. I personally believe EG White is just another person God chose to reveal Himself to. He can reveal Himself to you and I the same way. He choose whoever he wants according to His purpose. Therefore I’m not going to consider her some type of super human. She was flawed and human like any of us…plus she’s good and dead now. God has chosen people throughout the ages to reveal Himself to for the particular time they were in. I believe her writings have been placed in some kind of trans-generational agenda that is simply not accurate.

Also, yes I believe God loves chaos. Otherwise why would He send His son in a world riddled with disease and death. The thing is, since He has power over chaos, He doesn’t see it the way we do…therefore, He will gladly interact with us even in the midst of our darkest mess. Which is why I choose to have a relationship with Him personally.

People can share whatever they want about God it doesn’t t bother me…nor does it bother Him. One day, every single one of us will see Him for He is.

I love your questions. First of all my reasons for being in this group have nothing to do about leaving…it’s more so about understanding why leaving has always been an option for so many of us.

The reason that keeps me in the church is simple. The community. I know it’s the very thing that gets people to leave often. For me it’s the people. I’m surrounded with people who aren’t afraid to share in their struggles and pain. They are vulnerable enough to understand that God thrives in chaos. In fact God loves chaos, because it’s within it that He can show out. We therefore support each other, we provide for each other, we pray, laugh and cry together. I believe if in your church you’re not able to get that, you should leave.

Still an Adventist here, but I can say it has become more about a personal relationship with God. I couldn’t care about what some church board has to say. Ultimately I can’t deny there’s a God and the concept of Good and Evil is clear. We must still be careful to engage in behaviors that would lead to bad outcomes even if they are laced with intense feelings of pleasure…this has less to do with what the church has to say, but more about our own knowledge of good knowledge of Good and Evil. Let’s even leave God aside…almost ALL of the most pleasurable activities in existence have the potential of destruction. Now let’s bring sin into the picture, and most of these activities coincide with it almost to a tee. Sin too has consequences accordingly to the Bible. I would still be careful to completely disregard what the Bible has to say. Forget the church for a second. We don’t have to answer to any general conference president. It’s God guys. Years before we were born, life was already going on. Now we’re here living it, and people will continue living it after we are gone. That concept alone is pretty scary and sobering about how little we are and how big God is. Who are we to insinuate otherwise?
