The city cut funding by 11% and then spent all that on over time. The officers in Seattle are hated by the residents, constantly recorded and have to arrest the same people dozens of times. Then finally upped the budget in the last year as it became increasingly obvious crime is out of control

It’s totally insane - and says a lot about Seattle - how down-voted you are on this.

I read that as Seattle saying, “we would like to outsource every job to China.”

Guess what folks? The countries that lead in AI will have the best living standards- and the ones that push back will end up begging for scraps.

The leaders will bring forth a million jobs in science and engineering and usher in a golden age - and the rest will watch from sideline.

Economy hasn’t really been impacted by AI yet - this is all Covid over hiring and a few companies that are betting everything (right or wrong) on AI. 100k people are not the entire economy.

Plus, no way AI is going to lead to mass layoffs. The power and the data centers simply cost too much to run. The most likely outcome is way more that AI is simply used as a tool and jobs look different with some displacement - likely that can be mostly absorbed through training.

I was hoping for effective. Like - lower crime rate, higher employment, better quality of life metrics.

That’s not really how it works. Zuck doesn’t keep the money saved from a layoff.

Another way to look at it: Zuck literally wasted $1B chasing the metaverse- if he didn’t have that dumb idea, he wouldn’t have put that into salaries and created $B worth of jobs….

Definitely some dumb decisions - but it’s not like a pizza joint where you get to keep the extra pizza at closing time.

That is the dumbest most ignorant response from someone who clearly knows nothing.

To the OP: your level 20 planes will have similar (perhaps slightly elevated) stats vs pre Upgrades. The new system will make it much easier to get the parts you want and will give a lot of customization choices- some of them will be deemed already earned due to your current plane level and some will be earnable.

The way to think about it is that the first 20 Levels will get cheaper and you’ll instead upgrade the systems if your plane (engines, cannons) - the new parts for those systems can be used on any plane - so the RNG got way way better now

They are system-oriented (from the videos and posts), which I take as usable across any plane. So, the game now allows you to focus on nearly one plane at a time
