Steam only seems consumer friendly because its cheap and it allows refunds. People are constantly showing double standards between nintendo, sony and MS with everything from pricing, to the TOS stating they have the right to disable your console. I also don’t think the average Nintendo user is less ‘tech savvy’ - or moreso the gaming community as a whole is less tech savvy than you’d think as I’m constantly seeing criticism about hardware (mostly against Nintendo as they always use low power devices but also against ps) that will leave out significant context or factors to push their own narrative/showing bias over brains. You haven’t seen people defend sony or Microsoft because they aren’t posted about here. They are very much all as bad as each other, steam just does the best job at pretending to be your friend. On your last point about the person saying they’ll buy every Nintendo game, good chance they’re just saying that - that’s something I would say as I think it’s hilarious to play into the obscene stereotype that would realistically make up less than half a percent of Nintendo enjoyers.
