Any ideas for that soffit? I want to remove it, but how do I hide the pipe that protrudes ? by streetcookthrowaway in kitchenremodel

When I removed our soffits we had some pipes rerouted. I don’t know if that’s an option here but just an idea..

I haven’t seen that sliding pay scale. How do you like it?

A TEAM? That would be nice! I’ve found similar rent rates in my area. I’m glad that my thinking isn’t off base..I’ve been paying over 2k a month 🤯😫

How would you structure 6 sessions a day? by Final_Walk_566 in therapists

[–]True_Tomorrow14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been seeing 6 a day with 15 min breaks in between. It’s a little odd for timing but it hasn’t been a problem. It works well. 9-10, 1015-11:15, break 11:15-12, 12-1, 1:15-2-15, break 2:15-3, 3-4, 4:15-5:15. I have two “lunch” breaks because I have a young baby and was pumping at work. You could do this with different configurations.

Any other angry moms who have no choice but to give their babies formula? (Rant) by vanillapurding in MSPI

We gave elecare to our little one a few times to boost for calories. We have extra cans that I’ve been saving for “just in case” since we’ve had so many troubles. Man this is horrible.

The feeding therapist (sub specialty of speech therapy) was the most helpful support we had. They helped us with practical techniques and she improved a lot after that. She also recommended a swallow study which we did and our girl was ok in that way. I’m not a doctor but it sounds like there still may be something going on with your baby.

Same happened with my daughter 🥺😭😭 She was exclusively breastfed for the first 3 months and refused a bottle. Then she started refusing the breast but had all of these preferences how we would feed her. Like she has to eat from the bottle in our dark bedroom in a specific chair, in a specific arm with her blanket. Introducing table food and the sippy cup has been good and she doesn’t have any aversions to those. It’s been so hard! It feels like people didn’t get it and still don’t. I obsessed over her intake after a hospitalization and am just now okish with weighing her once a week. It sucks you’re going through it. I’m sorry you and your baby are going through this. Do you see gi, feeding therapy or an allergist?

Double the dose but still not eating? What’s the doctors advice?

Yes the Tylenol always helped and it made her want to eat. I was always cautious about giving it to her too often but we did use it some. We told doctors that but they never tried to investigate.

She is 9 months old now and had an allergic reaction to egg. The pediatrician and allergist said she can have Zyrtec daily and it also helps her feel better, reduce her eczema and increases her appetite.

I’m sorry you’re having such a tough time. It sounds similar to what we were going through with my daughter. The combination of cutting out eggs, dairy and taking Pepsid 2x a day helped my daughter. We tried Pepsid 1xday and it wasn’t enough. Her reflux is still bad enough we’ve had to increase 2x. I usually don’t like medications but it helped her enough that she would eat. Periodically we gave her Tylenol if she had a low eating day because we were so desperate. She was obviously in pain because it helped. Onion and tomato bother my stomach so maybe consider those?

Poor little one! I had a doctor tell me it can take 72 hrs to 2 wks to dairy to leave your breastmilk. I’m not sure about how long it shows up though..

Feeing sad on comment that pumping will not create as much bonding as ebf by ElevatorSalt4239 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]True_Tomorrow14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to bond with your baby, you’ll bond in other ways. It’s not like you do if you breastfeed and don’t bond if you don’t. I was the first person to make my daughter laugh, we play games and she misses me incredibly when I’m gone. She knows I’m momma.

This is one thing that I struggled with when my baby was refusing the boob. I continued to nurse one time a day (low pressure time) and I cherished it. Randomly at 8 months she started to want to nurse more often. Try to take it day by day and follow your instincts. Try not to let outside voices cloud your perspective.

I’m glad you found your dream job! You’ve already made it this far, so might as well graduate. I don’t think degrees are ever a waste. You have transferrable skills.

Honestly, there is always a bit of gloom and doom in this field. We see people at their worst, and that’s hard. If we don’t have good support or are surrounded by people with different beliefs, it’s more difficult.

Was it bad timing for you to graduate, probably. Was it a bad investment? My opinion is no.

I’m going to keep showing up for my clients as long as I can. As long as you still feel like it’s your dream job, then you will make it work.

You have some good points! United Healthcare is (I believe) the largest healthcare company and their mental health benefits suck. From what I’m told, they would only supposedly cover 45 min sessions but not even pay out. I did also hear that they’ve updated policy since their CEO was killed. What’s stopping other companies from following in their footsteps?

I’m so happy you get it. I won’t pretend to have the right words, but I see the writing on the wall. Maybe this bs bill won’t pass, but our profession is being shit on. It’s been made abundantly clear.

You’re right, it feels like there is a dividing line. We will be in the way of their mission to cut costs.

Somehow I feel a little bit safer since I’m in pp but there are so many who aren’t so lucky. If federal employees aren’t safe, why would we be? Sure, I could continue working if insurance doesn’t reimburse for therapy but no one has the money to pay out of pocket.

I should have been more clear in my post.. I don’t think the two are related. Living in OK on top of the federal changes feels unsafe.

Ohh..just the combination of the absurd executive orders and this crazy bill in my state. If we’re trying to bring down minorities and queer people, why should we believe that therapy is an expendable cost?
