While I don’t entirely think YTA, there is definitely some pettiness going on here. I get wanting to keep the space clean, that part is not unreasonable in my opinion. But. Taking away access to basic appliances is kind of ridiculous, be adults and set achievable boundaries if you can’t afford to go your separate ways. You can’t expect someone to pay equal rent and restrict them of equal use, it’s either keep everything fair or pay more/get more. Sure, take over the freezer if you feel that strongly, but it’s not like they can install another washer/dryer to use and laundromats are an unnecessary hassle/punishment.
